Picked up The Pink Panther set today, and I'm enjoying it immensely. This is my first time ever seeing the very first short, "The Pink Phink," and it's an absolutely brilliant and entertaining piece of work. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: there's something to be said for silent presentation. It's incredibly refreshing not to have a bunch of mundane talking heads eating up precious screen time, when the animation speaks so acutely for itself.
And Corpse Bride is worth it for the music-only audio track, which essentially has the entire film's score, from beginning to end, with voices and sound effects removed -- yep, that even means instrumental versions of the vocal songs! I've grown a fonder appreciation for the music as a whole now.
Tears To Shed (Instrumental Version) -- so very, very good.
