OK, it's not video gaming, but it is classic gaming that I bet many of us remember from going to the arcade

I don't think any reasonable person would dismiss pinball from discussion because they're not technically video games. I have many fond memories of The Creature From the Black Lagoon, Black Knight 2000, Theater of Magic, and of course The Addams Family. I was never particularly very good at any of them, but like many other 80's-90's arcades, they both represent a golden era of gaming and flood me with memories of many a summer gone by.
If you're jonseing for a pilgrimage but Budapest is just a little too far off the map, you could always swing by Vegas. There are even a few clusters of machines to be found in Maryland.
Veering more toward actual video games, the pinball "remakes" have become pretty impressive, but don't quite replace the experience of playing on an actual table. I've long enjoyed Pokemon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire, though; it was my go-to for any situation where I had a lot of time to kill. The old New York Pokemon Center had an actual Pokemon Pinball machine, but it was pretty lousy.
Vegas... maybe. Certainly more doable than Budapest! My favorite was definitely The Twilight Zone. I thought that pinball did everything right.
i loved the dr who pinball game. I've only ever played it once.
