I'm super excited by this film and have a guilty pleasure man crush on the whole series. Anyone else excited for it? It's currently anticipated to demolish box office records according to most pundits. I know I'll be one of them!

Yep, totally hyped for it. No guilty pleasure here - just pleasure. I love these movies and this one is obviously a curiosity given the loss of Paul Walker and the reworking that had to happen following his death. I can't help thinking it will have to suffer for that in some ways but I'm really hoping the film gives him a fitting send off.
I feel that is going to make the family bond that much stronger and that much more emotional. Both on and off the screen.
I got to see this today. A crazy movie and builds again on the last one in terms of action and lunacy and generally really entertaining, although not as tight as 5 in my opinion. The big shadow over the movie is obviously Paul Walker. It was hard for me not to be aware of him while watching it. That said, given what happened I'm amazed how together it felt and I was really only conscious of his absence in a few small scenes. And I think they handled the ending brilliantly. Really respectful.
Finally caught this after the obligatory month (or longer) delay coming to Japan. I'd say it was much better than FF6 and if not quite as good as FF5 then pretty close. The action scenes were over-the-top but were well shot and exciting (not only the car chases, they've been doing a really good job with the fight scenes in these movies lately as well). Unsurprisingly a few of the plot points were silly but they all led to one of those sweet action scenes as payoff at least. I agree it was classy and respectful the way they handled Paul Walker's departure.

Agree with everything. I think suspending disbelief is kind of something you have to do when watching this kind of movie anyway, so it's not really out of the question to expect it going in.
