The movie was OK. I admit, I was a bit underwhelmed. I think my expectations were too high. It's not nearly in the same league as Blade Runner. Heck, it's not even as good as many Twilight Zone episodes. Nice special effects though, but again, underwhelming. That said, I did find this quite amusing to see after the movie

I suppose Ex Machina could be Blade Runner Zero, to demonstrate how such a society could start in the first place. I found it to be very disturbing and I was not in a minority. The couple behind me left early because the woman kept complaining that she was getting creeped out; the man eventually capitulated. Another couple left early, but they were sitting too far away for me to hear the reason.

I'm disappointed with myself because I didn't predict the ending. It was a lot colder than I was expecting and almost makes me want to join the Luddites.

It was a good movie, even though the prognosis for humanity is.... (you'll have to watch it).

It was a good movie. Far from groundbreaking. It was supposed to be creepy, but honestly I feel that it fails in many ways too. As for Luddites, meh. You know, this premise has been used in science fiction for decades. If you have not yet seen it, you need to watch the Twilight Zone episode "The Brain Center at Whipple's" which is from 1964!
