This movie was absolutely incredible, can't say enough good things about it.  It's getting universal acclaim, too.  If you enjoyed the original films, you'll enjoy this.  It's essentially a 2 hour car chase movie in the completely chaotic post-apocalyptic world of George Miller's mind.  There are also some rumblings/controversy about feminism or some bullshit that I couldn't really be bothered to care about.  I guess mens rights activists (seriously, that's a thing?) are complaining it's a feminist agenda movie masquerading as a guys movie which is probably the dumbest thing i've ever heard, but maybe you care more about that kind of thing than i do. 

Also, the soundtrack is refreshingly unique and super stylistic and perfectly fitting for the film.  Most of the shorter tracks on the album are filler but still good but the standout tracks are all of the 5+ minute tracks, the most recognizable ones being the heavy sounding string and drum anthems you heard in the trailers.  Composed by Tom Hokenborg (aka Junkie XL), who I didn't even know composed for film but seeing his list of collaborative works (Inception, Dark Knight Rises, lots of Zimmer stuff) I'm not surprised I like it.  This looks to be his first primary/solo compositional work, though.  I remember the Junkie XL tracks from the Need for Speed racing games and such but never remembered them being all that spectacular outside of the context of the games.

I won't be reading this thread until the movie comes out here in a month, but I will say of all the trailers I've seen for this year so far, this was the best. The visuals look very impressive and the movie in general just looks INSANE in the best way. Looking forward to it.

I had absolutely zero interest in this movie and wasn't particularly impressed by the trailers, but EVERYONE is saying it's amazing so I guess I'll give it a try.

I haven't been this excited for a movie in a long, long time (and I followed the production for YEARS during development hell and kept hoping against hope it would actually get made).  Haven't had the time to get out to see it yet, but I hope I get to soon!!

I didn't enjoy it as much as the original Mad Max and it is slightly worse than the sequels from the 1980s. I understood the original much more because it showed why Max became so Mad. I didn't feel anything while watching the remake/reboot because there was nothing really bad that happened to him. He was like superman, tearing his way out of a fortress like it was made of balsa wood with pursuers no more inconvenient than an easy to reach itch.

EDIT: I think Ex Machina spoiled me. I told one of my cousins this and it's probably why I was so upset with the new Mad Max. Ex Machina was brilliant, disturbing and powerfully cerebral (forces one to think). I had momentarily forgotten that Hollywood aims to awe people with special effects. So it's really my fault for not adjusting my attitude in such a way as to expect nothing but entertainment, like a roller coaster. Mad Max is exactly the kind of movie that I don't like, since it gives me nothing to contemplate, like a roller coaster. The original Mad Max, however, is still a movie I think about, since the story was so powerful.

I thought the movie was absolutely spectacular. One of the best cinema experiences I have had in years. But it was so loud at the showing I went to that the idea of putting on the soundtrack for my listening pleasure seems really wrong to me. But maybe I need to hear it at a volume that won't cause my ears to bleed!
