I just got back from my friend's Memorial Day/Birthday party and about fifteen minutes before I left things... kind of went to hell.
I guess somebody lost a $100 bill (why you'd take that kind of money out at any point in a setting like this is beyond me...) and my friend's neighbor (who I do not know in the slightest) had the nerve to ask me how much money I had in my wallet.
My response: "I have one dollar in my wallet. I don't tend to carry cash."
See, I knew they were looking for something prior to him asking me this... I just didn't what that was until after the question was asked.
However, I'm sorry... I shouldn't be asked or have to tell a complete stranger what is in my wallet. That is bullcrap. If the question has to be asked, it should be asked by my friends, the people who invited me. I would have no issue with that.
I'm not insanely furious over this, but I do feel the need to tell my friends that this exchange took place. Also, I don't expect my friends to confront the neighbor over this... but it was crap of the highest degree.
How would you feel about this?
