I love Odin Sphere, although I would rather see Odin Sphere 2 than a remake.

Oh God...
I actually liked Odin Sphere... until the difficulty spiked a few hours in and kicked my ass...
....and I was playing on freakin' easy. Never finished it.
However, the original game still looks fine to me. Seems kind of silly to me.
I'd rather see a US release of Princess Crown. I remember drooling at the Gamefan coverage of it, in the midst of the Saturn's gory death.
However, the original game still looks fine to me. Seems kind of silly to me.
After reading some people's comments on the game I guess I have to take this back. It seems there was some issues with slowdown and what not with this game. I didn't encounter this myself but again I never did get too far.
Still, the game's ascetics where beautiful and really reminded me of what Legend of Mana would have been like on steroids.
I'm still debating whether this is worth it. What about the limited edition? Any thoughts?

You probably just need to level build; re-play a few levels, if you can.
I remember when I started getting my ass kicked, was the beginning of chapter 4 of Gwendolyn's story. Those Berserkers were rough!
A level-building trick: Each of your characters eventually gets the spell/special ability "Release Phozons." You expend your gauge to cast said abilities; so Release Phozons, then re-absorb them: This will net you EXP, but not only that, will also refill your gauge. At the end of every battle/stage, you should expend your excess gauge, because I think you lose said gauge every time you start a new battle/stage. I learned this trick way too late in the game, but it certainly helped the second playthrough go by quicker.
Overall, I liked Odin Sphere; it was half as short as other RPGs that I was playing at the time, clocking in at about only 25-30 hours after all was said and done. Plus, it was an action RPG, so that was time that moved fast!
I enjoyed the ending, but by the time I finally finished the game, I was pretty exhausted with it, and felt it had worn out its welcome, which probably only made the ending that much sweeter. It probably didn't help that I repeated each of the character's chapters to level build them, just for the final boss fights at the very end of the game. I forget whether I had to grind to level 50, or maybe it was 60?
Protip: Before finishing any particular character's chapter, get their level somewhere in between 50 and 60 before defeating the final boss for their chapter, so you won't have to replay their chapter just to level build them.
