The old STC pages are interesting. The marketplace has discussion of the $1,125 sale of Dracula New Classic, but I can't read any of the posts. I remember a lot of the user names.
Back when people used to actually talk about game music.
Lots of nostalgia there, lots of familiar names I remember reading posts from (I probably wasn't an active poster until about a year later).
Quite literally, this is like looking directly into the golden age of VGM.
If I remember that sale correctly, the first time it had a reserve that wasn't met (around $1100-$1200), second time it went for about $1500. Feels like yesterday.
Ahem.
The word and spelling you're looking for is "Nostalgia," I think.

That's a legend. I was randomly thinking about that guy who paid a grand for New Classic. When I bought mine about five years ago, the price plummeted, was able to get one for 5,000 yen, complete. At the time, middleman fees and shipping took it to $90 but it's an obligatory one, so, no regrets. But over $1,000? Hell no.
