Everytime it launches it remains minimized in the taskbar, even if I left-click or right-click and choose 'Maximize'. It still can play sound though. Anyone have any idea what's up with it? I found no help with MS' Knowledge Base.

If you're actually able to click on 'Maximize,' then the window is probably there, but just off the screen. Close every window except for the media player (this is just to preserve your window sizes), then right-click on the taskbar and choose "Cascade Windows" and see if the media player window pops up.
Otherwise, try using System Restore and go back to before the problem first started.
Or reinstall WMP, if the re-ordering the program windows won't work. It's probably a safer solution than using system restore. Always go for the least invasive fix first.
While waiting for the reply I uninstalled WMP10 and installed WMP11 beta and it fixed it. I'll keep the 'cascade' fix in mind if it ever happens again. Thanks for your suggestions, shdwrlm3 and raynebc.
