I finished up the Wii remake of Klonoa the other night and guess whose name popped up in the end credits?  Yup, Mr. Shadow Hearts himself.  I know he didn't have anything to do with the original PlayStation game so I'm guessing he composed some new music for the remake.  Since I'm not familiar with the original game that much and this was my first real Klonoa experience, does anyone else know what's up with this?  I haven't yet compared music from the Wii version's sound test to the actual PlayStation OST, but if I have to, I will!

Check the video below @ 1:20 for proof and don't worry, this vid is just the credits, no spoilers.

Oh and side note: what an amazing little game this is!  I'll definitely be picking up Klonoa 2 on PS2 very soon.  Wa-hoo!

Klonoa 2 was definitely a nice little game, but I didn't have the PSX when the first Klonoa came out, so I missed it; that, and I had to rummage through the USED bin for a copy of Klonoa 2 in 2005 to get THAT.

A copy on AMZN is pretty expensive, new OR used: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/ … 173&sr=1-2

Holy shit . . . . Hirota is one of my favorite musicians ever. This is huge incentive for me to pick this game up. Viva my Wii!!

You think that's weird, according to his wiki page, he and one of the other Shadow Hearts musicians worked on Sonic Shuffle together. Still, no stranger than Mitsuda scoring Chrono Cross and the first Mario Party within months of each other.

The tracks seemed mostly to be re-workings on the originals that are by a big bunch of composers. The arrangements are far better, so I'd like to get my hands on a soundtrack, or even a game rip.

Awesome game, by the way.

Wow, great find! Thanks Mike! I'd be interested to know whether this features new compositions or is entirely an arranged version, though it's interesting Hirota is credited as sole composer. People might be interested that he had a similar role in Adventure Island Wii earlier this year too. He's actually been busy than ever now SH has kicked the bucket, but mostly in obscure roles.

SonicPanda - Sorry to self-promote, but if you want to learn a lot more about Hirota, I've compiled most I know here

Good article, rather wish he would get back into the swing of full soundtrack writing.  That note about D.Gray-man: Sousha no Shikaku is interesting, I hadn't heard he wrote the music for that game.  Wonder if it's his own original compositions or adaptations of Wada's themes?

I heard the score and it sounded like all-new compositions since it was very much in his Shadow Hearts style. That said, I don't know the original although I imagine it'd be quite hard to license the compositions.
