I just downloaded this today - don't know if anyone else has heard of it. It was a symphonic arranged if Chrono Trigger was a movie. So it would be a movie score. I think it's really awesome myself.

DOPE! Thanks for posting this!

Definitely thanks for posting!

Ambitious in scope, superb in execution.  I love the consistent referencing of thematic material, combined with each remixers' own personal takes on the pieces; it keeps the cues varied, exciting, yet wholly coherent, just like what a good cinematic score should do.  Jill Goldin's vocal songs were a pleasant surprise as well, and her "To Far Away Times" ends the score very nicely.

Thanks, Sky!

Look forward to hearing this - thanks!

That ending vocal was actually good. Woah.

It's not my place to say, but I did find that a bit more engineering in sound -- particularly an added bit of concert hall reverb -- gave both Kee's piano and Goldin's vocals an even more potent and beautiful edge.

Holy shit! I'm on track 2 and already loving it! This is what the brink of time should have been.

Wow, I couldn't agree less with that statement!

To each his own, I guess, but CT Symphonic sounds like a bunch of generic and uninspired synth to me.
Brink of Time may not have been for everyone, but at least it was more original.

Wow! You sure have an elitist attitude there, or is it just bad taste?

If all of us who were here since the beginning are going to act that way, it's gonna be a pretty fun time here don't you think? Might want to overthink what you say before posting next time. Just some friendly advice.

Parental lectures sound better when they aren't given by someone who trash talked an album and then got snippy when someone disagreed.  The posts made by you and Amazingu weren't altogether dissimilar, ya know.  tongue

As for the discussion here, I'm not finding what I've heard of this so far all that interesting, but I certainly give them credit for effort.  I think part of it is that for purely orchestral music that's claiming specifically to BE symphonic, I desire either an actual orchestra or Symphony Ys '95 level synth quality.  Otherwise it doesn't quite do it for me.

On the other hand, I do like it better than most of Brink of Time, though that album certainly has its fans.  Me personally not liking the style is no indication of the quality of the album, though.

There was nothing wrong about what he or she posted, or even the attitude about it. I am suprised anyone would point that out; it's not even anywhere near a flame.

I personally listened to the album, and deleted it promptly.

I agree with Qui-Gon Joe about the Orchestral thing.

But WTF?

is elitist!?
I think I was expressing myself politely like I ALWAYS make sure I do.
What on earth is wrong with the way I said this?
Or am I simply not allowed to disagree with people anymore?

Any swearwords? No.

I simply said I disagree, and that the music sounds bad TO ME.
Can't do fairer than that, I'd say.
