From what my limited Japanese knowledge is, and from what translating the katakana generally implies...

The site talks about "coupons" the proof of purchases off the game boxes, since it lists three neccessary pops, one from each game, and a third from a T 177-8691 (the osts, maybe?), I kinda get the impression that the prize from sending in these "coupons" is the box to hold the cds in.

However they don't list a release date for the cds, which appear to be bundled together into a multipage cd case with "digitally remastered" artwork.

So, I could still be way off here.  sad

Alcahest Nov 16, 2006

It's a mail-in campaign.
You get 2 coupons, one off FFV GBA game, the other from the soon tbr FFVI GBA game.
You send those coupons to square and 5000 peeps will be chose to receive this awesome FF Finest Box which includes:
- a digistack style box, white color slipcase
- a Yoshitaka Amano illustration booklet
- FFIV+V+VI Advance OST fullset (1 disc per title)

Yes this sounds insanely good but with only 5000 pieces available it sure is gonna be hard to come by. we'll see what yahooja can do in that regard. wink
Later,

Alcahest

Even looped once, FFVI wouldn't fit all on one disc...FFV probably not either.

They aren't on one disc only, if you look closely at the pic, you can see that the cd case (the "digistack") is holding more than one cd.

5000 pieces?!  Jeez, sounds like this one will end up like the Yoshitaka Amano, Final Fantasy art collection, "The Sky": too rare and expensive for me.

That stinks, I want domestic Square music cds again, like "Kefka's Domain".

I'm going to go sulk now.  mad

off-topic, but if lordskylark is the one who recorded the old Might and Magic AdLib games, I's just like to say "hi and thank you". =p

If not, nevermind.

lordskylark Nov 17, 2006

Are you referring to Might and Magic 3, 4 and 5 for PC?

If so, I did those. And I actually found a way to edit which tracks play during the game. A couple tracks for Might and Magic 5 for the ending scenes would never have enough time to play for their entirity during the scenes - but I rerecorded those. In fact, I rerecorded all of the tracks.

Thanks,
~Andy

If you manage to find one via YJ, please let me know.  I will be interested in a purchase, with whatever markup you want. ;)

thanks

Oooh. I got the versions I have a while ago on DC. I never play a Might and Magic game in my life, but I still listened to those countless times. They have a mysterious charm to them.

Sorry for the thread hijacking ....

I frequently spelunk the depths of Y!J auctions, so I can let you know, but I shiver to think of what thode cds will go for.

I'm still holding out hope that I may find the full Granado Espada ost for less than $300, but that's just not happening.  sad

Ooh, I'd appreciate it if you could find one for me as well. Amber gets first priority, of course. ^_~ I don't comb the YJ auctions for FF stuff as frequently as I used to as there's so much on there nowadays and I haven't found a way to exclude search terms.

Yeah, sorry for adding this off-topic stuff to the topic, but...

THe one I like the best is Might and Magic 5 by far - the quality is terrible, but I love that music with a passion for some reason. I always wish that someone would have been able to redo the music with higher quality instrumentation...

Yeah, eventhough I like 4 a lot as well, 5 is amazing. Great atmosphere and melodies. And while an arrangement would be nice, I think I'd like it better on Adlib. The *crappy* sound quality makes it all more atmopsheric and mysterious. =p

I've been downloading a lot of Adlib stuff eversince I found those rips of yours, and while I found pretty nice stuff in the batch, I never really found anything as brilliant as this.

lordskylark Nov 19, 2006

If you want toemail  me at lord_skylark@yahoo.com, I can send you the full versions of some tracks that I redid.

Thanks,
~Andy

THREAD RESURRECTION!

hey, I was scouring Y!J and was surprised that I couldn't find FF Finest Box yet. Then I read this while searching on google:

http://gonintendo.com/?p=12498

So it looks like the Finest Box will ship by April. So starting in April, I will be searching for a few copies of this one. If it doesn't become disgustingly expensive, I'll get a copy for me and a few for fellow STC-ers.

And maybe a few to go to eBay. tongue

James O Feb 15, 2007

If these don't end up bein too expensive can someone help me get one?  Thanks to anyone who can help (Ramza?) heh.

Yo! Did you say you have the soundtrack for MM 3,4, and 5?? If so, can I be your friend smile
I LOVED those games! Any chance you can let me know how I could acquire those?
Thanks,

Yeah that's what they said about biohazard Sound Chronicle too ("3000" pieces) and yet even today I'm pretty sure they're still available brand-new

True, but I'd say the demand for Final Fantasy OSTs far outweigh the demand for Biohazard OSTs.

I reiterate my advance appreciation if you could find a copy for me. ^_^

DANG, $230! Wow, way too rich for my taste smile
Good luck to all invovled...

and if ANYONE has music from Might and Magic III, IV, V drop me a line, and let me know how I can get some (since there was never an official soundtrack released, as far as I know).

cheers,

I re-recorded from original Might and Magic 3+4+5, including editing the game to make pieces play at differnt times so I could get the full versions of a cut-scene track that was chopped due to the short length of the scene.

email m e at lord_skylark@yahoo.com and I can send them to you or whichever.
