For those who didn't see the news earlier today, The Last Story for Wii is coming out 8/14 in North America.  If you're in the U.S. and preorder from Gamestop or Amazon or in Canada and preorder from EB Games, you get a 7 track CD of music from the game.  It looks to be the same as the Japanese release (http://vgmdb.net/album/21973).  Personally I'm not terribly excited since I have the full 3 disc set and it's easily my least favorite Uematsu score of all time (and I actually really like both Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey).  I wonder if I'll like the music better in-game...

Anyway, for those interested in both the game and the music, maybe something to check out?

That makes sense, since TLS doesn't sound remotely similar to BD or LO at all.
I have no idea what went wrong here, but this IS indeed the most boring thing Uematsu has ever done.
In fact, it's the only thing he's ever done that I'd actually classify as downright boring.

Game is terribly uninteresting too, btw.

Heh, two weeks after I went off topic on how rancid this soundtrack is, this pops up. Go figure.

sounds like uematsu catering to the VGM concert croud, from what i've heard. he should go back to making good game music.

hahaha! that's hilarious... that music is bugging me i know it from somewhere but i can't place it...

edit: coincidentally i've been listening to the DDR megamixes again lately and I knew I had heard it recently!  It's Do Me (H.I.G.E.O. Mix) by Mustache Men.  weird.

I don't think the soundtrack is rancid... but it's not very interesting either. The music sounds like it's been arranged to death and it's hard to figure out where Uematsu ends and the arrangers begin. The town theme's nice.

I was thinking of pre-ordering the game but reviews are iffy and I'm low on money.
