The best classic game music and more
It is all in japanese so I don't know what it says but it links to a new game called World Destruction. The music on the World Destruction page is very beautiful.

News on the game and Mitsuda's involvement is kind of old. It's an RPG published by Sega, developed by the same studio that did Luminous Arc 1 and 2. The people in charge are Xenogears vets, and generally the game looks pretty promising. The bit you linked to on Mitsuda's site doesn't really say a whole lot other than the game comes out 9/18 and the homepage just got revamped, so check it out.
Yeah, it is old news despite Mitsuda posting it fairly recently. It has been revealed that Mitsuda is using the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra for the project (two recording sessions in total), though I'm not sure how many pieces will be fully orchestrated.
Hi. Thanks for the info. I did not know that this was old news. Hopefully if they used a live orchestra the soundtrack will feature the live orchestra. I really enjoyed Soma Bringer and this soundtrack so far seems good (at least from the track on the website).

Wasn't that actually supposed to be produced in '07? Or... '06? I'm honestly not holding out much hope at this point. Between all the stuff he's been working on lately and the new Wii RPG they announced that they announced his involvement with this week, I don't see him having the time for a while.

My theory is that Mitsuda wants to keep it on hold and try to prove to his fans that he can yet come up with an original score to surpass the popularity of the Chrono Cross OST.
Basically, it'll be on hold indefinitely.

The first info came out on it today. As far as I can find, there aren't any good scans from Famitsu that show the gameplay screenshots that are allegedly in there.
