It's fairly similar to Legend, but I haven't had any trouble. O descends and X ascends, and apparently triangle makes her swim faster, but I can't tell the difference.
I made it to the halfway point in Midas's level last night, and I have a few little complaints about the progression. First, The Coliseum was the worst part of the game; there's a good chance that after you open the door with the Balcony Key you will want to shoot yourself. And there are points where I will do some platforming, hit a checkpoint, and then fall down... and on my way back to the platforming section I will hit another checkpoint, so if I die I have to do it all over again. It seems that there are checkpoint "areas" to get through instead of just single checkpoints.
My recommendation? If you go through a real tough segment and you hear that checkpoint chime, save your game. Then, if you fall and get pushed back to an older checkpoint you can just reload your game and save the hassle of going through the segments again. Although, aside from that Coliseum balcony part (grapple to grapple to pillar, btw) the platforming parts have been a treat.
So, yeah. I'm still fired up about this game and am having a great time with it. $30 is a steal.
PS: Checkpoint, checkpoint, checkpoint.
