Just got an email from Tanomi about it this morning - will try to read in-depth and give details later. But for now, yay for more Gyakuten Saiban music!

LOL, that's a hilarious title.
Gyakuten Meets Orchestra
Gyakuten Meets Jazz Soul
Gyakuten Meets Punk Rock
Gyakuten Meets Gregorian Chant
...will it ever end?
Ramza
I can definitely see the jazz potential here. Godot, of course; "Murderous Gentleman's Pleasure," "Aging, Regret, Repay".... I can practically hear the smooth bass lines of the Gyakuten Sisters' Theme already.
The album appears to be set to coincide with the release of Gyakuten Saiban 4 on April 12th. At least one track is confirmed so far, and that's "Minuki's Theme" from GS4.
Ooh. Perhaps the Jazz album will be released around the same time as the GS4 OST?
Ramza
A new Gyakuten album? As soon as Kahori has that sucker up for pre-order, I be clickin'.
Hahaha, ska and gregorian chant. I wonder if gregorian chant will sound like kutimu stuff?
Jazz?! HOLD IT! I'm in...
For serious! This should be awesome.
It's coming on March 31 (ten tracks, arranged by Iwadare).
arranged by Iwadare
I just hope it's not some repetitive old style Jazz like he overdid for Radiata Stories already...

Huh? I /looooove/ Radiata Stories arrange (the OST, not so much).

Zzzzz...
Shit, what? Oh, Iwadare. Yeah, great. ...zzzzzz...

I'd be offended by this if I didn't agree with it. I HATED his last jazz-oriented work (Radiata Stories Arrange) almost as much as the lackluster OST and he really never has done much in the way of favorable arrange albums (aside from sprucing up his original Grandia music...Which ironically, I thought was miles ahead of his actual Grandia arrange album) Dunno...Iwadare's been on a downcurve the last couple years.
Tanomi's got the album cover up now. Sax out, Godot!
I saw the instrument list and I'm gleeful now. The VGM arrange market needs more saxophone these days! Album's worth a buy for that cover - perhaps they need to do a Gyakuten Meets Posters or something...

Iwadare arranged the Orchestra Album and also helped with the PW3 ost, i have the interview between Iwadare and the PW producer in my book. From reading the interview, Iwadare tries to go along with what the original game producer wants. He has worked for Tokyo Disney Resort, NHK, misc show events and Kimikisu its says in this book.
what book are you refering to?
Ramza
The saiban fanbook.
They've got a sample of the track "Objection!" up now. Not too shabby:
Can someone extract the audio from that SWF?
Adobe still hasn't provided Flash support for my system.
Here ya go:
Awesome. Thank you.
This disc just shot way up in my order-once-summer-employment-begins list.
So one day, I was sitting at my computer and I got an e-mail from Capcom. Here's what it said:
"Hey Tommy, this is be Shinji Mikami. No, I'm not doing a joking. You're good at the Garage Band, right on? Can you make do the jazz band sound of Phoenix Wright?"
I threw back a few beers, opened up Garageband on my Mac and then arranged and recorded the whole PW Jazz album in an hour. I used all my default samples and EQ levels because, let's face it, jazzy stuff doesn't need to sound good. It needs to sound underwhelming and quickly thrown together to make a profit.
Go ahead, Iwadare: Make a better album than me. I dare you.
I like it but yeah... I thought they were doing real instruments for this...
I guess Godot will be on sax...
I was looking forward to this because I love Jazz, but it doesn't seem to have the same flair as the orchestral album. Too bad.
Gave the album the once over today, and I've enjoyed it immensely. There's certainly a higher ratio of live instruments involved (it's all live, it seems), which gives off an air of authenticity that some might feel was absent from the orchestra album.
The Metamorphosis Jazz Band plays up the interpretations loose and lively, smooth and easy.... with just enough PW melodic underpinnings to keep things properly grounded. That said, I do need to throw out this piece of criticism that, while the songs are generally well performed, the material and arrangements feel a bit repetitious in light of the Meets Orchestra album. While hearing a jazzy rendition of the "Objection!" medley is neat, it isn't wholly different than the aforementioned album's version. The "Court Begins Blue Note Scale" tracks, too, don't steer too far from the orchestrated Court Suites, yet the exclusion of any strong accentuation of the Examination and Cornered themes are sorely disappointing.
On the other hand, "The Great Revival" sounds spectacular, and "Godot ~ Fragrance of Dark Coffee" is on par with the already jazztastic orchestra version. The new arranged material are very welcome additions; "Swingin' Zenitora" from GS3 and the newly-composed "Minuki's Theme" from GS4 are definite album highlights, with the former's gangsta-blues melody exploding with all matter of jazzy badass goodness, and Minuki's breezy lite-fusion piece being one of the most pleasant surprises on the entire CD.
Ah, a meaty review...it doesn't look like this album is my cup of tea.
I hope Okami Piano Arrange is better.
Sounds fabulous. I was thinking about this album today and was worrying that it was going to be a quicky GarageBand production like the sample and others posters here commented on. The trumpet sounded real, but who knows these days, I've seen and heard plenty of GarageBand already... So there's an actual group who did the music?
I'm excited. More jazz please!

Here's a quick 'n dirty sample I put together. See what you think:
It probably would have been pretty cool if Meets Orchestra hadn't been released, but it doesn't possess the fresh factor that album brought and too many arrangements sound too similar. I'll eagerly been waiting for Gykauten Meets Metal Heavy though.

After one listen, I'd have to say I'm in this camp. I'll have to see if further listens improve my opinion of it.
And now there is another title to add to the list...
Gyakuten Saiban Meets Recorder.
It's a Doujin Arrange album, presumably containing Flute/Recorder versions, which I just won from Yahoo Japan Auctions. Hopefully it'll be good, since curiosity got the best of me.
Here's the cover pic and Tracklist
01 : 尋問~なるほどくん!アレグロノントロッポ
02 : 逆転姉妹のテーマ~綾里姉妹
03 : セーブ~このままじゃ…終われない!
04 : 吐麗美庵~本土坊・ら・ぼえーむ

The cover is adorable! Hah, and they've got GS3's "Trés Bien" track on this? Definitely gonna have to give this album a listen.
Any chance for some samples once received, Carl? ^_^

I'd be interested in samples, too. I have an affinity for the recorder, being that it is the only instrument I can play with any kind of fluency. ^_~
