Masashi Hamauzu recently said in his blog that he recorded a new solo album in his hometown of Munich.  The album will contain about 20 tracks (new and arranged tunes).  I think that the album will contain tracks for solo piano and string quartet.  One of the tracks will be a piano version of the vocal theme from Unlimited SaGa.  The album is untitled and will be released in late May.

Mmm...Good to hear, but I'm disappointed about the solo piano/string quartet thing. Hama's normally best when he really mixes things around, so I'll be more interested if he were to mix in some US Disc 2 or FFX-style stuff.

More like his birthplace. Anyone know if he speaks German? =P

I heard that he does. Score points for Datschge! tongue

I would think he does. The entire SaGa Frontier II OST tracklist is German. Furthermore, his style of impressionism reminds me more of the German school than the predominant French. The man clearly is a Germanic Japanese dude.

btw, news of this album made me pee my pants in excitement.

I was going to post something like this, so I might as well just quote and go, "Yeah. Word."

Holy shit that's amazing!  Best news to come out in years, as far as I'm concerned.
