This should be... interesting for fighting fans. There seems to be hardly any of GG's personality to this game.

To put it nicely (and this coming from a *ahem* fan of the series), it looks like total washed-out, humorless dogshit. I just saw from those links you can "only" play as Sol and I've heard it's a combination of RTS and 3D fighting. Uh huh...From the guys who worked for years on making the world's deepest 2D fighting engine? Nice.
Bottom line: I'll buy the soundtrack (as long as they don't go in the ambient/atmospheric direction and keep it hard rock/metal) and unless the final product turns out radically different, the rest can go the way of Kurt Cobain for all I care.
Oh well, at least Accent Core is coming to the US in less than a month. The gameplay changes should hold me over until Ishiwatari comes to his senses. Pretty insane stuff...They really changed a lot from XX/Reload/Slash.
I'm not sure why they would show pictures centered around Sin the same way they are centered around Sol if he is not a playable character....?
There's clearly quite a lot of things to object to in this game, but if it's anything like, say, Chaos Legion, then it will at least have it's heart in the right place.
Uh... gameplay footage is out.
Um....buh?

Guilty Gear is dead. That is all.
Couldn't hear the music that well, but I heard both screeching guitars and orchestral schmaltz mixed in there.
Guilty Gear is finally doing something remotely new after nine years
fixed for accuracy and whatnot
Dais apparently never played GG Judgement

So they're turning it into ... Dynasty Warriors?
How horribly disappointing.
Actually, I'd sooner take my chances with Isuka and I turned down a free copy of it from someone because of the "turn" button mess. And let's not even mention Dust Strikers...
And yeah, it looks VERY Dynasty Warriors and not in a good way. At least DW offers 40+ characters to play as. Here, you have...uh, Sol.
Perhaps, unlike Koei, they are aiming for quality of gameplay over quantity.

Or not.
Just in case anyone missed it, the Vol.2 OST is incredible. And so you don't miss it, PA is having a sale. $19.90!

In that case, anyone have a coupon code they can spare? I finally have an order that tops $50...
PM sent, man.
Thanks!! I bought this for a friend for Christmas, so I'm know what to look forward to.
I love the Vol. 2 soundtrack. On a track-by-track basis, I don't think it's as memorable as any of the prior ones, but it's an adrenaline rush to take in and still pick new stuff out of the carnage. A very good "in the zone" album, at least if you like metal. Worst part of the soundtrack was, ironically, the new versions of Holy Orders (ouch!) and Keep Yourself Alive. The other worst part? Trying to decide favorites from all the new stuff. Think probably "Communication" and "Worthless As the Sun Above Clouds" top my list right now...
$20 is a steal.
My Play Asia order arrived yesterday, and I gave GG2 Overture V.2 a listen. Loving it, absolutely loving it; it's quickly become my favorite Guilty Gear album of all time. With some perplexity, I respectfully disagree with GoldfishX; I think the arrangements of Keep Yourself Alive and Holy Orders are SPECTACULAR. Especially Holy Orders; the strings amplify the mood of the piece tenfold. The entire album is one excellent listen, but I've found myself frequenting Hiruandan, The Mask Does Not Laugh, The Man, and Diva most.
Think I'd like the strings more in the background, not on the main melody and taking the place of the traditional organ/guitar combination. Just doesn't work at all for me. I had a (very) brief run with symphonic metal before and this stuff doesn't quite hit my sweet spot at all. Holy Orders is too shredworthy.
Keep Yourself Alive 3 is at least a grower...It kind of shows how this album differs from the more melodic style of the previous ones(solos and riffs held together my one memorable, recurring riff). I'm fine with it now, but I still much prefer the classic Keep Yourself Alive 1 (which has only gotten better with age).
