IGN reports that the two new bosses are Time Man and Oil Man. Uhhh, yeah. Also, there's apparently a challenge mode with 100 short (but difficult) levels to mess around with.

More recent revelations include Roll as a playable character, Rockman sounding like a little boy and Megaman sounding like a teenager, and being able to play as the 8 bosses. There's also the level-editor (with downloadable stage element packs and the ability to download or trade custom levels). Disdain for Capcom aside, this is one of the few PSP titles that elevates my interest in PSP from "'eh" to "I'll get one... eventually..."
... Oil Man? Wasn't he a boss in one of the horrific PC Mega Man games?

A reader of Tips and Tricks recently confirmed this. He says that a third party (not Capcom, can't remember the name) ported Megaman 3 to PC, and included some new bosses. Of these, there was Oil man. The picture of him looked like a purple-faced baby in a suit of armour.

I had the extreme misfortune of having played that version of Megaman 3 when I was younger and it was BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD.

How on Earth did you get a copy of the PC Megaman games back then? I didn't even know they existed up until about a year ago. Maybe they were US exclusives?
In any event, what was bad about it?

They were at a computer store and I picked them up. My mistake. This was around 1991-1992. Very early on.
Okay, what were bad about them? Man... where to start? Very short (like six robot masters a game), terrible control, very difficult because of the terrible control, the levels were badly designed, the robot masters were badly designed (and ripped off from earlier Megaman games). Oh, and there was no sound aside from some bleeps and bloops from the PC speaker.
Very. Bad. Games. (This is referring to the PC Megaman and Megaman 3, both of which I played)
Yes, I remember wanting to buy the PC MM3...not sure if it was because it was cheaper than the NES of what. But man it's good that I didn't!

Time Man eh? Oil Man? Time Man was inevitable. Oil Man just takes a stab at the current situation of the world! Cheap shots! Just kidding
Oh Capcom, keep 'em comin'...

Don't forget the menacing Crorq.
Yes, these games were actually made by Hi-Tech Expressions (better known for NES edutainment crap), and are best left forgotten, along with U.S. Gold's Game Gear entry, and Bandai's horrendous Rockman & Forte on the Wonderswan. Let us speak of them no more.
Oh, and Roll, it turns out, is download-only. So late buyers might not get her at all. Can you feel my rage?
*speaks of them no more*
What's up with Time Man, anyway? How is that going to be different from Flash Man? I believe there was another Robot master in MM6 that had a time thing going as well...

Centaur Man was the MM6 time controlling Robot Master.
Mega Man Network just reported that Protoman/Blues is an unlockable playable character, earned after clearing the 100 challenges mode. This should make a lot of people happy, as outside of the arcade games, Blues was never a playable character in a proper Megaman platformer. (And unless he interacts with Megaman, it doesn't necessarily have to conflict with established plot.)
