I just bought it for 360, no impressions yet because I'm about to start unpacking this huge box, but was wondering if there are any harmonix supporters here ^_~

I'll let you know December 25th when I get a 360 to play it on...
In light of the god thread, I am putting a lot of blind faith in the upcoming DLC and I hope to see a lot of songs/bands I follow (their 80's selection is really weak in the main setlist...or rather, lack thereof). As is...the songlist manages, but there's probably fewer than 10 I'd bother learning the vocals on (not counting the current DLC and especially the Metallica pack, which is f---ing awesome) and will probably be content with just guitar and maybe drums. But the sub-10 I want, I am looking forward to belting out, just from subconsciously doing it in Guitar Hero (I am definitely doing the guitar/headset combo)
I'm looking forward to it...GH was/is great, but this seems like a very natural and cool evolution of the idea. I just don't know where I'm going to keep those damn drums...
Sucks for Canada the game got pushed back to December 20th...

You would not believe the amount of bitching I had to put up with from my friend regarding this topic.
I made the mistake of glancing at the GameFAQs board about this. Some POed Canadians over there with the power of making (many) threads about it.
One of my friends got it yesterday. It looks very polished, but the drums respond so late you have to calibrate them to compensate. And the guitar it comes with is much harder to use than the one with GH in that you have to press down hard on the fret to get it to register. It's still fun, but they could have done better with the physical controls.
I saw a demo unit going in the store, and wondered why this doesn't have a KEYBOARD in it's band. Seems incomplete without one.

Hey, you guys get Thanksgiving early, and we get Rock Band early. Fair trade.

Man, that would be awesome. Now I want Keyboard Hero.
Keyboard Hero? What you need is Accordion Hero - http://www.phobe.com/sfi/ac_box_big.jpg
Or Sousaphone Hero

I had it preordered and paid in full, but cancelled it. I'll pick it up eventually, if I don't get it for Christmas, sometime next year. I like how the DLC for this game actually integrates into the main game, instead of being another list of bonus tracks like they are in GH. I'll probably need a 120GB 360 HD anyway, since I'll probably get it on 360 instead of PS3, because mine is fast filling up (damn, Looney Tunes!).
Let us not forget cowbell hero

I thought about this, but the reality with DLC is I'd probably only pick up maybe 1/5 of what gets put out (unless they go on a major 80's kick), so I should be fine with a 20 GB HD. There's a couple Live Arcade games I want, but I'll be surprised if I use more than 10 GB of space over 5 years.
There have been reports of early peripheral problems for all 3 instruments, so waiting might be a smart thing right now. I'm weighing the benefit of picking up everything individually (and maybe using a Live headset instead of the microphone).
GoldfishX, my problem is that I have way too many XBLA games (with their DLC), a large collection of DLed Looney Tunes episodes, and another show (plus a few more I had to delete), as well as saves and DLC for other games. 20GB fills up way too fast if you mess around with the XBL Video Marketplace (especially since, unlike movies, you can keep the tv shows for as long as you want). Also, you don't get the full 20 GB to use as the system allocates 5 GB or so to itself. That being said, the DLC for GH2 and 3, and I've gotten all of it so far, doesn't take up that much space. I think Fortunate Son, when I was browsing through the Rock Band songs, was only 16MB.
Man, what I wouldn't do to switch my PS3's 60GB hard drive with my 360's.
Oh yeah, I forgot the 360 offers video downloads. How much space do they tend to chew up?

depends on content, but hd movies or hd shows are taking lots of space naturally.
hd movie can take up to 7gb's, where stuff like looney tunes(which are about 7 minutes long), about 200-300mb's each.
buying 120gb is a wise move if you're very much into video marketplace.
That being said, I think the HD Looney Tunes is only up to 720p and costs I think double the price and uses 6x the space... I've only been buying the SD ones. And it still takes up so much. I prefer buying the ones I want this way as opposed to those Golden Collections, some of which have like a disc of crap cartoons I don't care to see (like the pre-40's ones, and my apologies for those that do like them).
Another thought: Why no BASS guitar either?
..or are there options to change the lead guitar to play the bass guitar notes? wasn't GH3 supposed to do this kind of thing as well?
There's no solo campaign for bass, but you just use a regular GH or Rock Band controller for it in multi (so you pay a little extra for another peripheral). Let's face it...People aren't lining up to play bass in Rock Band, even with a 12x multiplier. ;p
I've got Rock Band for PS3 and I am almost done mastering the drums on hard, mwa hahahaha. Anyone care to play me online? Just add me as a friend on the PS3 (BAMAToNE), then send me an invitation from the multiplayer screen in Rock Band.

Carl: After a song is selected, the guitarist is presented the option of guitar or bass. In March, when we can buy guitars for Rock Band separately*, we'll be able to have a full band - guitar, bass, drums, and mic.
*Currently, the only guitars available for Rock Band on the PS3 are the ones packaged with the "special edition" game, which includes drums and a mic. Activision and Harmonix are in a fight about a software patch that allows GH guitars to work on Rock Band. It's been ready for a couple of months, but $$$ is what's holding it up, of course. In March, two things will happen: 1) The makers of Rock Band will finally release a guitar for individual sale, and 2) A third company will release a generic guitar that will work for both games (it'll have a toggle switch). Then our problems will be solved.
Edit: Just read over GoldfishX's last post. Perhaps what I said about bass only applies to Quick Play mode, not World Tour mode.
