I don't think so. DMC1 was excellent, DMC2 was mediocre, and DMC3 was goddamn awful. If the "singer" from DMC3 is back, I won't bother listening to it.

I actually believe that the Devil May Cry soundtracks improve further into the series.

Devil May Cry (1) was okay, 2 was probably the most melodically memorable for me, and 3 features an atonal punk rock vocalist, akin to FFX's "Otherworld."

And for me, that makes me kind of want to mute the game while I'm playing it.  :\

I'd recommend waiting to see if other soundtracks are announced. Usually Suleputer, Capcom's in-house record label, publishes the scores for the Devil May Cry series across two or three discs. This Avex score is likely very incomplete. That said, it probably doesn't have the endless event themes that make the Devil May Cry scores not so digestible. Personally, I really enjoy music to the Devil May Cry series and have found them all good efforts for different reasons. I'm still in two minds about the vocal tracks in 3, but I've heard worse.

When you say "atonal", do you mean atonal or just tone deaf? I would think atonal music would be far too eccentric or esoteric for a punk rocker. If they hated prog rock, I can't imagine them enjoying Schoenberg

Think of a bored, stoned, half-asleep cheap(er) imitation of someone like the vocalist for Powerman 5000. It's not "punk rock" at all... just boring and not fun to listen to at all.

No plans here; the DMC music never really did much for me.  What did do a lot for me was the Chaos Legion music.  Anyone know what every happened to that guy?

Hideyuki Fukasawa.  He is still fairly active.  He was on the "Shin Onimusha" soundtrack, doing most of the in-game content, while Jamie Christopherson handled the movie scoring.

He's also featured on the very nice, "Gundam Target in Sight" for the PS3 and the anime "Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto", which has two soundtrack releases to date.

WHOA, and here I thought punk rockers were about INNOVATION. Are you telling me that there's actually some sense of conformity associated with being punk?! That's just too far out for me, man. (The irony to you should be that I consider conformity to be "too far out there.")

I always thought punk rock was all about "do it yourself and making noise, even if it sounds like shit" while making a bunch of "shocking" statements and showing your ability to be anti-corporate in the process. I appreciate the energy of punk rock when it's harnessed properly into other forms of music (namely certain types of metal) and done creatively, but most of the time, it actually sounds pretty silly.
