Ramza Dec 1, 2007 (edited Dec 5, 2007)

Alright, so here's the official compiled list. The person BEFORE you will be giving you a gift (you are the recipient in this case). The person AFTER you will get a gift from you (making you the giver). Here's the list:

01. Zane
02. Shoebonics
2.5 --- Red HamsterX (welcome!!)
03. Crash
04. Nick G
05. avatar!
06. allyourbaseare
07. jeriaska
08. Ramza
09. Ashley Winchester
10. GoldfishX
11. the_miker
12. Dragon God
13. Carl

Of course, it cycles at the end. Carl is getting a gift for Zane. Simple enough.

Here are the guidelines:

1. If you want a specific album, don't hesitate to ask! Just put it out there. Givers should do their best to comply. Of course, said album should be easily available and not cost more than $25 ... asking for something more expensive is fine, but in no way would the giver have to comply.

2. If you don't want some specific album, but you have some IDEA of what you want, you'll want to let your giver know.

3. Giving a used album from your collection is a fine idea, and is certainly encouraged! But don't do this if your recipient doesn't want anything in your collection! The fun thing about the "give from my collection" gift is that it can be a complete surprise, IF your recipient wants a surprise.

4. Exchange mailing addresses ASAP! So that the information is there.

5. The earlier you get the album mailed, the better. As an absolute deadline, please try to have your CDs ordered/shipped by Fri Dec 14.

I've sent an email to everyone (minus crash, who uses site mail) giving this same list of people, but with email addresses as well. Now then, get to work! And have a happy holiday!

Ramza

Ramza Dec 4, 2007

Has anyone on this list not gotten (or figured out what to get) a gift for their recipient? If there's any open spaces, I'd like to put Red HamsterX in the mix.

Crash Dec 5, 2007

I haven't given Shoebonics any indication of what I want yet.  I'll ask him if we can squeeze RedHamsterX in between us.

Shoebonics Dec 5, 2007 (edited Dec 5, 2007)

Yes of course!
( :

Does this mean i'm getting a cd for RedHamster instead of Crash?

Crash Dec 5, 2007

Yep.  You'll get something for RedHamsterX, and he'll get something for me.  I'll still get something for Nick G, and everyone else should stay the same.

Red HamsterX Dec 5, 2007

Thank you, Crash, Shoebonics, Ramza.

I'm loving this community more and more every time I post something.

Not to break up the love... but Shoebonics, if you see this can you drop me a line?

Check your e-mail, Shoe (if you see this). Sorry to clutter the thread, but I can not get in touch with you.

Thank you Nick G! I received exactly what I desired, and couldn't have asked for a cooler gift smile
You know, I really enjoy this gift exchange we have every year... it makes me feel all warm and tingly!

cheers,

-avatar!

ps allyourbaseare, I hope you enjoy what I sent ya! I do apologize for the packaging though, the post office was out of boxes so I had to improvise... yeah, it's not pretty, but it's the contents that count.

GoldfishX Dec 12, 2007

I'd like to personally nominate Ashley Winchester for Man of the Year. I got exactly what I wanted, plus a set of awesome Rockman/Megaman figures, plus a hearty introduction to Edguy (Hellfire Club = amazing album) and Midnight Oil. Thanks a ton!

Ramza Dec 12, 2007

I think my giver beat everyone.

I thought I was cool because I got two full OSTs for Ashley Winchester. I was like "man, I'm such a cool generous human being."

And then I got the following package from Jeriaska:

SaGa Frontier OST (3 discs)
Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song OST (4 discs)
Culdcept Saga OST (4 discs)
REvive OST (the one thing I was really hoping for!!!)
Armodyne OST (2 discs)
Lumines Remixes ~Winter~
Final Fantasy Tactics A2 notepad (it's pretty rad, as a matter of fact!)

So if you retail price that ... it's ramping up towards $200. It's AT LEAST $150.

That's ridiculous.

<3 Jeriaska.

Thank you!

UNREAL!! That's a bit insane... I couldn't afford sending such a package no matter how much I'd like too. Good for you two (next time, I suggest not listing all those, just say it was totally awesome smile

oh holy shit. It's not! It's coming Dec 19.

But I already have it.

Okay, Jeriaska CLEARLY has some inside contacts. This rules.

EDIT - avatar, is there something wrong with me listing the contents? Normally, it's tradition for us to tell everyone what we got.

I'm checking the mail daily, but the wife has ordered some presents for me online as well, so I don't know if I'm actually able to open the one from you!  Is it sent from "Avatar!", or should I be looking out for a real name?

Man, this year I feel kind of stingy now that I'm seeing what everyone has been getting.  Things should be better next year, when I'm not in college and working full-time.  I still hope Jeriaska likes what I got him.

- to Ashley Winchester - Keep spreading the Edguy love!  Hellfire Club does in fact = awesome, but Rocket Ride might have beat that one out a little bit.  My wife absolutley hates power metal, but somehow she loves that album.  I mean every. last. track.

Don't subject you or your gift to comparision... I mean the only thing that really matters is if the recipient enjoys the gift, right? Gee, as if that didn't sound corny or "after school special" enough...

I'm really glad I decided to put that in GX's package at the last minute... its a good album but it was so wasted in my possession / collection. I personally give Rocket Ride a lot more attention for some reason; I think it has to do with the massive variety the tracks present - no two are are really alike. Anyway, I'm happy I could pass it on to someone that can get more out of it.

I used my real name, but you'll know it's mine since the packaging totally sucks! Yeah, they were out of boxes at the post office and only had a dinky little thing left which was too small, but the postal employee assured me it would work... eh, at any rate, I do hope you enjoy the CDs! I sympathize with your troubles, grad school is financially rough, very rough! Ah well, we do what we can.

So, got my package today and... HOLY CRAP!!!

Avatar! went all out and got me some really rare stuff, Fantastic Night Dreams COTTON, and Wizardry - Suite Wizardry II.  Excellent work!  Am currently listening to COTTON and it's just filled with old-school goodness, something that's hard to come by nowadays.  I can't wait to devote some more attention to both albums, but I must say that I was very much surprised and delighted with my secret santa present.  Thanks so much Avatar!  and thanks to everyone here for accepting me into these wonderful forums.

Ramza Dec 14, 2007

damn, Wizardry Suite II? That's some nice stuff. Oldschool baby. I love Kaneda (RIP)

Ramza Dec 14, 2007

Oh, about the Lumines CD. There is a little "sample" sticker over the UPC code on the back. So I guess it was a promotional pre-release for CD shops and stuff. Nonetheless, it came from VGMWorld ... what is Ms. Ezaki holding on to that we don't know about?! tongue

jeriaska Dec 14, 2007

Half of those CDs were either used or promotional materials.  The shipping was actually the priciest part.

Ramza Dec 15, 2007

well, I feel good about it either way. smile

jeriaska Dec 17, 2007

Kudos for putting together this shindig, Ramza.

And I'm loving the music you sent me, allyourbaseare!  Takayuki Aihara is teh awesome.

I'm glad it finally reached you!  I was worried that you'd be disappointed with the payload considering all that you sent your recipient, but I'm relieved that you like it.  Merry Christmas buddy!

Carl Dec 18, 2007

Alright!  Just got DragonGod's package today, now I can celebrate Xmas with the Blue Bomber, enjoying both of the new 20th remix albums.  Thanks man!

allyourbaseare Dec 20, 2007

Ashley,  I had some time today and while I was playing the drums I did Edguy's "We Don't Need A Hero" in honour of you.  Now I need to go lay down.  My legs hurt.

Zane Dec 24, 2007

Got my package from Carl this morning, and I am going to ring in Christmas and the New Year with the LUMINES remixes winter album. This is some good stuff, right here. Thank you, Carl! smile

Ashley Winchester Dec 24, 2007 (edited Dec 24, 2007)

I got my packages from Ramza today! I can't help but find humor in the fact they shipped seperately but arrived on the same day - Christmas Eve no less! Funny how things work as I was expecting one of the boxes to be the Rockman Arranges I ordered.

Anyway, thanks for the double helping of Dew Prism and the first Black Mages. I haven't heard any of Dew Prism but I've seen a lot of people talk it up so I'm eager to dig into it. Hope you and everyone else have a great holiday.
