Unlike most people, I did NOT get Okami when it first came out; seemed to be a damn popular game, figured I'd still see it on the shelves 2years later, when it's price tag had finally gone down to $20. BUT, it's no longer on store shelves anymore, and the game has only since appreciated to $60!! It didn't go DOWN by $20, it went up by $20!!

SO, it looks like my last hope is Okami on the Wii. How 'bout you? You gettin' it on the Wii, too?

Be definitely checking it out. I played through the original once, and just loved it to death. I just hope it's not a straight port. I hope for maybe some new stuff to be added. smile

I'm passing. I got about halfway through the game on the PS2 and lost interest. The story isn't developed enough to sustain the length and the battles were gigantic bores. I won't deny that the game has a certain amount of charm (and looks gorgeous) but that charm wears thin after 30 hours (or more).

Okami is a game I really really wanted to like, but ultimately it fell kind of flat.  I'm still completely in love with the visuals and the soundtrack, but there's a problem when the game climaxes to an awesome dungeon at the 2/3 mark and then craps out for the remaining 10 hours.  I do think the Wii version will be the way to go, though... the drawing bits are a perfect fit.  This is, of course, assuming that the port is good.  If there are terrible frame rate problems or something, the PS2 version might be worth the extra bucks.

Yeah, I guess my second question that I only asked subconsciously is this: do you see this as being a successful port? (You already responded, so I'm only asking anyone else who hasn't responded yet).

I already beat the PS2 version, so if they are adding no extras and won't sell it at $29.99, then I won't get it.
