At Kawaii Kon this year, I ran into a guy who was asking a dealer about this silver DS etched with Final Fantasy art that was supposedly announced last year. I think he said specifically it was FF6 art. He also said that EGM had notice of it in their Japan section last year, sometime before the FF3 DS came out. But as far as I know, the only FF DS that came out recently was the Ring of Fates one, and before that it was the Revenant Wings one. Nor can I find the EGM article he was talking about. Does anyone know of such a DS or that article?

The only Final Fantasy-branded DS systems I've seen around here are the Ring of Fates, Revenant Wings, and FFIII ones .  He must be mistaken.

Could this person have been confusing FF3 and FF6?  I think there was a limited edition FF3 one, but if I remember correctly it was white, not sliver...

Hmmmm...that could be a possibility, but I doubt it because the guy did use the terms specifically "a DS with FF6 art before FF3 came out." Though he could have misspoken, it's true. And yes, the FF3 one was white. As far as I know, there is no silver DS, not even in "regular" colors....hmmm, I wonder if he was actually thinking of the special PSP that came out for FF7 Crisis Core, because I'm pretty sure that one was silver, from the pics I've seen of it. I'll have to do an EGM check anyway...I'm so behind in my Seanbaby fix, heh.

Your theory about it being the Crisis Core PSP might well be the case.  That makes the most sense out of anything.  The only other thing that springs to mind right now is a Subarashiki Kono Sekai limited edition of the DS Lite, which was silver with a black logo on it, as I recall.
