I prefer the Remix to the original soundtrack, but it's hard to appreciate the arrangements in entirety without hearing the source material.

Short answer: Technictix Remix Vol. 1 is a definite buy

Long answer: I'd also recommend picking up Technictix if you want to appreciate the source material. Technic Beat is something I haven't heard much of to give a proper evaluation.

Technictix is out of print though, isn't it? I hoped they'd reprint that, especially when they release a remix album...
