Been playing Star Ocean IV. As expected, characterization and story are complete trash, loaded with the usual anime cliches and topped off with extremely uneven voice acting. You'd think Tri-Ace had learned their lesson after SO3 but nope...
Graphics aren't nearly as good as the pre-release videos suggested (especially in battles. Not sure what happened here) and the music is Sakuraba in epic mode, noodling a lot with an orchestra but not leaving one memorable melody behind.
After four hours of boredom, I'm finding there isn't much holding my attention and I'll probably be returning it to Gamefly shortly. Definitely glad I didn't buy it.
