I've been waiting for a track list for this. I don't really want to buy it (I can count the songs I like from both games on one hand) but my curiosity is brewin' on what made the cut.

Anyone got the low-down?

A bit disappointing, honestly. You'd at least have wanted the eight primary stage themes for each. Still, better than nothing.

Thanks. The tracks I like (Boomerang Kuwanger, Fireman, Robot Master Battle and Wily Stage 1) all seem to have made it, but it's not enough to make me hunt down the album; the rips are fine enough.

I never even knew this existed.
It seems to be a promo CD of some kind.
Does anyone know what it came with?

It was included with the first printing of a PSP Value Pack of the two games back in September. I think I mentioned it in another thread, but I'm not 100% sure.
As I said, a little disappointing, but the album art is great (X and Zero with guitars on one side, and the PU crew as a full band on the other).

I've added the Japanese and translated tracklist to the VGMdb entry based on information from freedbtest. I translated the names literally from the original Japanese using the spellings on the Mega Man Wikia. If someone wants to add a localized version, be my guest!

That interesting, I've never really considered "Intro Stage (Highway)" as the X's theme in the original game. When thinking about it does make sense even though there are a lot reservations I hold towards the piece. Something about it feels unattractive.

Also, talking about main (character) themes, does anyone find Toshihiko Horiyama's main theme in Mega Man Powered Up kind of odd? There is nothing wrong with it per say, but giving a game a main theme that didn't really have one to begin with (save for the credits roll that eventually became a main theme with Mega Man II) feels somewhat weird.

I guess I should have asked this earlier, does anyone have the skinny on who revamped these soundtracks? The unconfirmed data I have credits PoweredUp to Toshihiko Horiyama and Maverick Hunter X to Shinya Okada, Kento Hasegawa and Seiko Kobuchi.

Edit: Also, is Okada a chick or a male? Don't know the right pronoun to use.

Those are who are credited in the respective staff rolls in-game, but in case it matters, the MHX composers are listed in the order of Hasegawa, Kobuchi, and then Okada.

And yes, Okada's a dude. Here is a picture of him at a lecture on RE5's sound design. He's the one with the delightful t-shirt.

Thanks, I just needed to be sure because my opinions about the soundtracks have a lot to do with who did them; posting a review without knowing for sure, and then finding out that it's incorrect is something I'd like to avoid.

John or anyone else, would you be able to confirm which tracks are new pieces and which are arrangements from the release? Having not heard the remake soundtrack, I can't be sure myself.

Actually, yeah I can. I'll post them over at SEMO. There aren't that many originals - "Theme of VAVA" is one though.
