It's actually not coming out for another three weeks as a stand alone. And apparently the graphics are a good deal nicer than the DS one.

Is it done like the DS one or sprite-based like the PSP version of FFIV?

it's a DS port with minor upgrades, sadly. will be playable in english btw.
