So is he the producer or director? According to wiki he's never directed anything. Maybe he still has the most influential role.

Now if he had a hand in Dead Rising, then maybe he'll narrow the creativity in that game into a more formal beat-em-up. But how disappointingly vague that trailer is. I have to admit though, everything aside from the mechanics looks good, the graphics, presentation, and the zombie-overdoneness-self-awareness as well.

Here are some new screenshots of Keiji Inafune's Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, in the game you play as a hunter named Yaiba who is on a mission to hunt down Ninja Gaiden protagonist Ryu Hayabusa. This game is a spin-off of the Ninja Gaiden series, the suffix "Z" stands for zombies. Yaiba is targeted for current generation consoles, which suggests PS3, Xbox 360 and possibly Wii U.

To be honest I don't have much interest in this game - I still haven't played ANY of the newer NJ installments and my heart currently belongs the NES ones - but I have to admit that when the first trailer split the gaming community into two factions that was an interesting moment.

first time i've seen the trailer just now...I can see why this would be polarizing...this looks pretty bad ...while the intent is there to make a retro side-scroller, the use of Unreal engine automatically disqualifies it from being anything genuinely retro, IMHO - it reminds of a bad PS1 game.  And the cut scenes pseudo '8-bit' is the worst..what were they thinking?

The music sounds uninspired too...the trailer makes the game seem to be lacking any heart & soul.

The music from the side scrolling part is taken from the old Ninja Gaiden arcade game as well as the start screen button push sound effect fyi.

The game looks pretty terrible tbh. I don't think Inafune is the director...
