I don't think I ever played the original but I know it's regarded as one of the best 8-bit platformers.  Looks like they got the 2D + 3D look right (though I wouldn't mind a few more frames of animation).  Any fans out there?  Thoughts?

i'll be getting it. Loved the original.  Looks pretty good to me.

I'm cautiously looking forward to it. I do speedruns on the original whenever I have to kill time (the game can be beaten in 10 minutes or less) and it's one of my favorite games of all time, despite the easiness.

My first impression is that it looks like a very strange flash game.

The original game is a lot of fun (although I haven't played it in years). The remastered version looks fine, although I'm not thrilled with the amount of cutscenes that seem to interfere with the gameplay.

I played it at PAX East back in March. It's pretty good, but Shovel Knight is better. I'm comparing them because they both are driven by pogo stick style gameplay.

An underused and oddly compelling gameplay device!

I'm probably getting it since I loved the original.
Like Xlord said though, I'm probably more excited about Shovel Knight.

From glancing at the thread title I thought: I can tolerate loudness wars if they are releasing Ducktales! Alas, it is in the gaming forum.

I just read through some Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge Fantagraphics reprinted, very classic and lively work. I used to watch Ducktales too, that was like a staple of my childhood. Never played the game though, I don't really game anymore anyway, so I won't be playing this, but it looks cool.

Ha, seriously! Other than these two and DuckTales 2, the only other two I can think of that use it are Zelda II and the Game Boy Mega Man II. Can anyone think of any others?
