Slated for release on June 30. After holding out for Distant Worlds III for some time it feels like this one came out of nowhere. As usual there's a mix of new arrangements with ones that have been released before on various Japanese albums.

Thoughts on the track selection? I think if they can pick the production values back up to where they were before Distant Worlds III it should make for a solid release.

I'm pretty excited about the variety of tracks here, at least it's not the usual fanfare.

Excited for: M1~3, M6 (!!!), M7, M12~14
Dislike: M4, M5, M8 (vocal song, meh; kind of tired of Susan Calloway at this point). Maybe the arrangements on M4, M5 won't be terrible but I can't stand them on the OSTs.
Indifferent: M9, M11, M15 (probably a compilation track?)

I've streamed through it a couple times. The three tracks from FFXV and FFXIII don't measure up to the very nicely produced orchestral OST versions, and the final track is yet another orchestral version of the main Final Fantasy theme without anything new, but the other arrangements are generally very solid. Definitely an improvement of DWIII I'd say. Excluding the aforementioned 4 tracks I'll be buying the other 11.

I'm pleasantly impressed with this so far, even the tracks I thought I wouldn't like. This should be called Distant Worlds IV ~ARPEGGIOS~.
