Good:

Masato Kouda's returning and appears to be the lead composer this time around. He had plenty of good tracks from 4th Detonator.

Bad:

2 3500 Yen sets and 6 CD's worth of material. Okay, not "bad", but...Pricy as all hell and both Code F and 4th Detonator had issues filling even 4 CD's. Might be overkill...

Bad:

No Naruke, it seems and the other composers from 4th Detonator are MIA. And I haven't even heard of the other guy on the project...His other works appear to be mostly H-Games, from a quick GMR scan.

Crazy...And there's still a Wild Arms PSP game in the works (plus a rumor of a WA2 remake), so maybe the rest of the cast will turn up there.

I was incredibly disappointed by 4th Detonator so I'm not holding out much hope for Kouda's work with this one.

Well, that's an upside...Agematsu was one of the guys who worked on Aka. If he was the guy who did "To The West", this could turn out very well...

(luckily Chudah covers a lot more H-Games than GMR)

Kouda grew on me and still is..."Dark Grey Black Ry", "Friends Who Watch Your Back" and definitely "Nightless City Guara Bobelo" were his standouts from the OST, I thought. Can't say I liked all of his stuff (maybe half...He was kind of in one minute, out the next) or that I'd like 6 CD's of him. 2 would be preferable. All four composers complimented each other well on 4th Detonator, much like FFX...Be curious to see the spread here.

Noriyasu Agematsu is awesome. Does a lot of anime work too (his MagiPoka score is nifty). He only did two of the vocal themes for Aka, though, Silver Sands and Vermillion. He's actually done just the vocal themes on a few soundtracks, anime and game, so it wouldn't surprise me if he's only doing vocal tracks on WA5 and Kouda's doing the majority of the soundtrack.

Definitely looking forward to the Shin Sangokumusou BB soundtrack. The music in the vidoes at YouTube sound great; in particular, the battle theme starting at about 1:32 in this video is love.

Hmm.. I recently finished WA4 and it has its strenghths and weakness for a game >_>, but after I finished the game I strolled through the soundtrack for it and found out many of the tracks I liked were composed by Kouda. So, I guess I'll be looking forward to a returning composer.

Three CDs for a volume?  KICA-1425~27-- 25, 26, 27 >_> Same for the volume after. And six planned or so.. 18 for a game? I hope I don't sound inane here, but I feel surprised. Maybe they won't stick with three for the following but o_o.

Where did you read that there's six volumes planned? There's only two planned volume releases with both holding three discs, total of six disc (hopefully) catchy and good WA tunes.

6CDs...I got borderline tired of Kouda when he was composing with 3 other people and only had about 2 discs worth of tracks, wonderful.

The battle theme, "Terrible-monster Attacking Crew!" is shaping up to be one of the best battle themes I have come across in a very long time. The samples, overal, make it sound like the OST will be the best Wild Arms album ever produced.

Quality shit (that GoldfishX will like).

I may not be only the one who think the beginning part of Vth Vanguard sounds like Scars of Time from CC.

I thought the WA4 OST was very dissappointing (Naruke or not) but this one rocks. There are +110 tracks (new challenger for Sakuraba?) with very few fillers imo and +6h of _looped_ music so that's where the 6 CDs come from. I had little faith in Kouda but I think this is one of the best Wild Arms OSTs.

The ones from the Media Vision site are quite impressive though and much more "western" than much of his 4th Detonator work was already. Only one I didn't care for was sample 5. Track 10 is just a sick and twisted guilty pleasure of mine. If Kato can keep that up, we might have an early soundtrack of the year candidate. Very nice. Thanks for pointing those out, Harry.
