Capcom is releasing a set of Gyakuten Saiban music from the WiiWare versions of the first three games in the series on Feb 8.  Does anyone know if the quality of the music is really any better in the WiiWare versions compared to the GBA/DS versions featured on the previous releases?

Apparently the WiiWare games are basically he same as the DS ones.

I was thinking of getting this album: Gyakuten Saiban Yomigaeru Gyakuten Original Soundtrack

Is that album represented in the soundbox? If so, maybe it would be worth it to just hold out for the soundbox?

That's the DS OST for the first game. Assumedly it'll be basically the same on the box. The second and third DS games never got a release, only the GBA originals.

Not really familiar with the sound quality of the originals, but here's a video of the WiiWare game in action.

First, I want to say how absolutely hilarious it is that YouTube has chosen "Ru Paul's Drag Race" as the promoted video to go along with this.  I guess he sorta looks like April Flowers...

Watching the video, I'd say the sound quality does seem slightly different than the DS music, but I don't know if the difference is big enough to justify the cost of the set. Hmmm.

Yep  And that's the real allure of the box set, having those two DS scores on soundtrack.  Even better if they get the CD remastering treatment a la the Gyakuten Saiban Yomigaeru Gyakuten Original Soundtrack.

I tried searching the forums but to no avail... anyone know a cheap way to import from the eCapcom store? With the new release of the Gyakuten Soundbox I noticed that the jazz & orchestra albums are back in stock and I missed them the first time around.

CD Japan has a Special Request service now.  It's not cheap, but they can get you eCapcom stuff.

CDJapan's service is more expensive than ShoppingMallJapan; and I rarely use that anymore because of its cost. I recently bought an item for 800yen and it ballooned the price up to $40 sad

champ_des_pins on ebay has listed them as well. not cheap, but japanese albums are expensive everywhere sad

I like champ but I have to admit his prices are far out there sometimes. I've seen him list Rockman DASH for $150 (got mine for $30 when he had a few of them) and Rockman Theme Song Collection for $100. I know it's his right to try and get what he can but in other words: ouch.

he will mark up any album as soon as it reaches rare status, he knows how the market works. common and doujin stuff is reasonably priced sometimes. i hate how he stopped doing SAL shipping few years ago, that's when i almost completely stopped supporting him.

play-asia now as well. pretty much everywhere smile i wish konami would offer the suikoden box for retailers, too....

TerraEpon Feb 11, 2012

$50 before shipping.....eh well at least Yes-Asia has free shipping. Hmmm....
