Repost from nausicaa.net mailing list, but apparently Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind blu-ray being released on 7/14/2010 will include the following features:

Nausicaa Blu-ray will include the following audio tracks: Japanese / English / French / German / Korean / Cantonese / Mandarin
Along with subtitles to those languages mentioned above.
Other specifications picture disk, BD50, MPEG4 AVC, non-duplication
Widescreen 16:9 screen size 1920 в 1080 FULL HD
2.0 Dolby Digital Stereo for all languages. (No mention of 5.1 soundtrack)
Storyboard, Audio commentary by Hideaki Anno
First Pressing will come with a guide book. (mini-book edition reprint)

This is actually really exciting news, I hope they do this for all Ghibli blu-rays. smile

This was the first ghibli movie I saw and it got me into everything ghibli and everything Joe hisaishi. It's still one of my top favorites, can't wait!

Really excited about this too! I was tempted to pick up the DVD re-releases that Disney has started putting out, but I just knew that Blu-ray releases were right around the corner. I love Nausicaa and I'm glad that Ghibli decided to use it as their "first" Blu-ray release (with the exception of Ponyo).

I'll definitely be picking this up on release day. big_smile
