what is really boggling about the originals being on there is that I'm pretty sure there are cover bands in both the east and west that would pay Capcom to be featured on this disc.

quality bands, even!

hey, it's still a month away. you think it's too late to hit capcom with a PETITIONONLINE(!?!?)

well, yeah, probably. even though they're the only gaming company ever to notice one.

While it's a more diverse tracklist than I expected, I wanted more MM5 tunes!

GoldfishX Oct 31, 2007

Okay, I got my Metalman and Tomahawkman mixes, so I'm a happy camper, but I seriously hope this one is a misprint:

06 Get a Weapon (Rockman3) mix

Not one anyone expected, but...Is it one anyone wanted? I can see it being a quality riff (which it kind of is), but a whole arrangement? We'll see.

Yamatoman has my vote for potential sleeper-hit of the album...Forgot how good this one was.

XLord007 Oct 31, 2007

I agree that the originals are a waste of space, but I'm pleased that Metal Man and Dr. Wily 1 from RM2 are both in.  I could do without the RM6 and Cut Man tracks.  There's too many better tracks they could've picked than those.

Tracklist seems disappointing. As suspected, looks like these will be medley versions. I just hope they throw in some instrumental surprises. Seeing as the GG crew is to be involved, I'm doubting any sax solos or the like. Unlike Rocking Heart, this will likely be a true guitar-driven album.

I sure hope so. I remember some GG having sax, but it was pretty unintrusive (I want to say Slayer's theme, but I haven't listened to that album in over a year). That being said, I hope the album is a little more refined than XX and the drums have more oomph than Isuka; the guitar playing on XX bugs me because it's sloppy, and the drums on Isuka could use less treble and more ass-kicking (although the drumlines themselves are great).

With the inclusion of the originals, does anyone think its possible we might find out who really composed the originals instead of getting the Capcom Sound Team/penname treatment?

/also thinks the originals are a waste, especially because they could've sandwiched a few more arrangements on there...

Kaleb.G Nov 1, 2007

The tracklist seems pretty thin. Also, I'm boggled that Shadowman was chosen as the sole MM3 Robot Master representative, and that TWO Mega Man 6 Robot Master tracks were used (I didn't think that soundtrack was quite as good as most of the others). But I'm still looking forward to hearing how this turns out.

I'm actually curious if those are any good or not...Cardfighter's Clash and Pokemon Trading Card (or whatever it was) actually ended up with some decent music and the majority of EXE music hasn't been bad at all (though hardly in the same league as the classic or X series, a few pieces aside).

Well, I bought the first one, but I've yet to play it. However, from everything I've seen about them, it's basically a continuation of EXE with a few changes, like 3D battles and a slightly modified battle system. It's not that different from EXE, particularly the battle cards and the overall system. Music is not bad. Y. Aoki from EXE 2,3,6 fame returns in Ryuusei 1, as well as M. Takano from EXE 5 DS.

And just for fun...Babblefish gives us the lowdown on the album in English...um, sort of.

"2007, the Daisaku "lock man" series of CAPCOM 迎 it is this year, popularity "of the lock man" sound source reviving 20th anniversaries! Focusing on the first generation "lock man", second creation and arrangement which the "lock man" トリビュート are done creation records explosive hit from Internet, explosion is spreading one after another. Now, as for heat of the lock man sound source with climax, as for the fan you yearn. Commemorating lock man 20th anniversary, the first generation "lock man" 1? Among BGM of 6, you select and immediately and others the れ are lock music Ver. Techno Ver. It distributes, it sells CD which is arranged with continuation. First of that as feature, lock Ver Preceding release. Also that tune of topic boiling of course recording! Tetsu Iwao who with famous grapple game "ギルティギア" has taken charge of the guitar with lock sound takes charge of arrangement! The guitar sound which is force plays the melody of the lock man."

Now THAT'S sig material!

On a serious note...I wonder if "arranged for continuation" means this will be a continuous thing. And it looks like Iwao is arranging as well as playing. Interesting, since I've never actually heard him compose/arrange before (just playing for other composers).

Amazingu Nov 7, 2007

"Continuation" should have been translated as succession, and it refers to the Techno Album, which is released 2 weeks later, which is about as rapid as succession gets in terms of arranged "Lock Man" CDs.

Ashley Winchester Nov 7, 2007

Is there anyone out there buying this outright? I personally can't make such a leap because the last arrange album I bought (WA:rh) really fell by the wayside for me. Don't get me wrong - it was good and I really didn't have any expectations that ruined it for me - but it just didn't stick with me.

Nope. Waiting on the samples or a download first, for sure. I've been let down so many times before that I need to be completely sure that I am going to be satisfied before I plop down the cash.

GoldfishX Nov 7, 2007

I probably will...I know Iwao can handle the axe, but I don't know how well he actually arranges the stuff (or if he's the one doing it or not). A couple short official site samples should be all I need to make a decision. It shouldn't be bad, but last thing I want to do is walk smack into a messfull of grunge-tastic angsty Megaman arranges. But provided this fits into what I have in mind (it should), I have an order in mind this will fit nicely into.

The techno album on the other hand...I'm not expecting much and I have a low overall tolerance for the stuff (unless it's REALLY f---ing amazing), so I'll be trying that one out from start to finish. I like Hosoe's rock much more than his techno anyway. *cues Robot #28 from Ibara*

And who knows about the last album.

I will.  I have pretty much every other official Rockman album out there, so why not?

Ryuusei no RockMan 1&2 Original Soundtrack - Jan 16, 2008

I have no clue what that is for, are those the DS games?

Yeah, those are the "Starforce" games.

Thaaaank you. Man, my attention span is awful nowadays.

Zane Nov 15, 2007

Man, I wish those samples were up. Release date is about two weeks away now...
