Hello... I was browsing vgmworld.com and came across this album called ABSOLUTE AREA THUNDERFORCE VI!  I looked at the track names and this seems to be different than the broken thunder album (which i promptly bought when it came out).  I thought Broken Thunder were the tracks made for Thunder Force VI??  Does anyone know about this album or have it?  How does it compare to Broken Thunder?!  I absolutely love Broken Thunder!  Amazing rocking tracks!

It's a reprint to the Hyper Duel OST, also by Hyakutaro Tsukumo, responsible for Broken Thunder.

It's the re-issue of the HyperDuel OST (Ts Game Music Vol. 6). Great music. "Project TF VI" was only applied to the name to increase exposure.

From what I've seen the Project Thunderforce VI albums are powered up arrangements from the old Technosoft albums...Broken Thunder is mostly from Thunder 3 or 4, Absolute Area is from one called "Hyper Duel".

Both albums are absolutely amazing...Definitely look into Absolute. I do think Broken Thunder is the better of the two by a good margin...It rocked a good bit harder and just had a number of tracks that had my jaw on the floor (The A and Namihei tracks at the end especially, Metal Squad, Steel of Destiny-Take Off, Justice Ray Part 3, Electric Beast Jungle).

These albums might just be the best-kept secret in VGM over the past year. Hopefully there's more coming.

Edit: To the guys above me: It's not a reprint. I need to listen closer to tell the exact different, but the Absolute Area is a lot cleaner and the track times are different. The releases are very similar to each other, music-wise.

Yeah, it's remastered and the TFIII arranges are different (some people argue worse), but it's essentially a re-issue.  I just want Blast Wind and TFIII to get re-issued and I'll be happy.
