Nintendo has decided to release the freaky Tingle RPG outside of Japan after all.  It will be released in Europe on September 14 as Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland.  The descriptions I've read of the game make it sound pretty lame (especially the battle system), but at least there will be a Western version for those who are interested.

I'm relatively happy about this - I'd at least like to try the game out in English.  Maybe I can strike some kind of deal with one of you Europe-dwellers on this forum.  wink

That is, if it doesn't get a US release, of course.  Also, am I the only one who's really annoyed at all the juvenile idiots who proudly proclaimed that they voted "no" in that Nintendo survey about whether or not Tingle should come to the US?  I hate that people think it's their job to prevent people who do want something from having it just because they don't like it.  Then these are probably the same people who turn around and complain that there's no Mother 3 translation right after they tell Nintendo "no" to a quirky rpg.

To be fair, at least for some people, logic might dictate that if something doesn't come here, that's resourced that can be used for something better elsewhere. Theoretically at least.

Though I'm sure most people who voted no wouldn't think this.

I wonder what convinced Nintendo to produce a game on the most annoying Zelda character? I'm not saying anything about the quality of the game, but frankly I really don't see the Tingle appeal. Why not a game with Malon? Frankly, just about anyone else from the Zelda universe would be an improvement in my opinion!

I like him. He's kind of fruity. But a whole game of him? I'm not sure I could handle that. Is this supposed to be any good?

Dai Kohoma of Play! Magazine had nothing but good things to say about it. An amazingly positive review.

That this game is being released outside Japan, I think, is nothing short of miraculous. I wonder how this was greenlighted?

I've heard mixed things.  I think Tingle is a funny, fruity character, and I have no problem with him getting his own game, but this particular game, at least from what I've read, sounds pretty terrible.
