Wow.  I'm pretty impressed.  There are several arrangements of SD2 and LOM tracks.  I was surprised that they went back and arranged the material, given the games don't seem to carry much over from game to game, and none of the composers for SD4 were involved with LOM or SD2.

Sweet!  Can't wait for the game.

I was going to hold off, but my next order won't realy be assembled until April, so I spun this out into it's own order so I can get it sooner.  I'm looking forward to hearing it.

Can't really say I'm looking forward to the game, though.  It's mission-based and your characters have to start over at the start of each mission.  Granted, we all know how much I loved Four Swords Adventures, but somehow I doubt this will be anywhere near as good.

I've heard the game is absolutely terrible. Not surprised though. There hasn't been a decent game in the series since Seiken 3.

blah blah blah.

I happened to love LoM.

Anyway, anyone noticed 3-07 Desperate Line almost sounds like a rip off (the intro that is) of the original Star Trek The Movie theme?

Still, great soundtrack.

I love LoM too, but SoM 4 looks ghastly on all accounts.

And some people even dared claim this was the next "real" Secret of Mana.
Pshaw!

Played it at Tokyo game show.  It felt a little like Kingdom Hearts, only the controls were worse and it was just generally less fun.

(trumping KH on those items takes quite a solid effort.  kudos, Square?)

Good for you. I didn't.

The real question now is which is worse, SD4 or Children of Mana?

Well, I've heard that Children of Mana is a decent dungeon crawler but a terrible Mana game, while SD4 is a just plain terrible game.  So perhaps the latter!

Yeah, that's basically what I've heard as well. In the case of CoM, people came into it with their own expectations and were disappointed when it was just a dungeon crawler. The game is fine for what it is (but not to my taste). SD4 on the other hand is broken, a mess of a game.

I don't think I'd go that far.  I came into Children of Mana knowing it was a crappy Mana game and I still think it's a crappy dungeon crawler as well.  It's simply not at all enjoyable.  The only good part is the music.

i think if i buy one game soundtrack this year,, this will be the one.

Arcubalis Feb 9, 2007

Wow.  I haven't read any details about the game.  I was really looking forward to it.  Why do they keep doing this to us?  sad

If nothing else, I would want to play the game to check out where all these series arrangements on disc 4 come into play.  That they weren't integrated within the first three discs is quite curious; perhaps it's a nostalgia-based "Journey Through Mana" world or something? :)

I know they're not part of the main story. I can't remember exactly what they're used for but the events are purely optional.

Considering they come in regular and "Hurry Up" versions, I wonder if they're for minigames of some kind.

I was excited to hear  SD2's "Flight Into The Unknown".  On SD 4, it's track 128.  So, first disc.  Maybe it's in the story.  Track title: Guardian Holy Beast Flammie Ver.1
