Hmmm, wasn't the first game only out on the superfamicom? I personally think remakes are cool, and I have no problem with them, in fact I welcome them! Just so long as they don't keep rehashing remakes over and over and over and over (such as Final Fantasy)...

cheers,

I really wouldn't have a problem with SO1 or 2 getting a remake - we never got SO1 to begin with and SO2 could really benefit from a facelift - although I don't know who played the original SO2 for the graphics (outside the cut scenes) to begin with.

My opinion of SO3 has really taken a hit over the years but I still think of SO2 in high regard.

Edit:

Maybe if this is true they'll reprint the soundtrack for SO2 at some point like VP1 Lenneth? Then again, the soundtrack may get a redone as well.

Huh? The graphics in SO2 were great, at least the pre-renders.

Such a shame nothing else about it was.

Star Ocean 1 seems to be getting a revamp to more closely fit SO2's engine.
SO2... there aren't any in-game screenshots yet, as far as I know. (there's that one of the spaceship, but that looks like FMV)

Star Ocean 4 has been announced, but... it has not even been announced which system(s) it's appearing on, so I expect this one around 2009-2010.  They ARE working on it though, it's so exciting. big_smile

Gotta start saving money, so I can do like I did with VP2 and buy every last everything released both in Japan and here for it.

SO1 seems interesting but how will the PSP improve upon what SO2 offered on the PS1?  Seeing as how SO1 is going to look and play like SO2, it seems like SO2 might turn out to be more of a port than a remake.

What's the source of your great dislike for the game?  I'm just curious since you've taken shots at it before but never go beyond that.

It was just badly put together. The battle system was unforgiving and had a rediculous difficulty curve, it was too easy to make the wrong decision about things, and a lot of things were simply too confusing.
