Now I know it's not out yet, but has anyone heard any samplers from this? Not sure if I want to get it just for the sake of it. I've felt let down by the quality of a lot of the re-arrangements over the past 4 years from Falcom.....

Honestly, the *only* arranged crap from Falcom IMO was Ys: Oath in Felghana. The Sora no Kiseki arranges, Genso Sangokushi I and II, and plenty of others...loved the albums to death.

But we'll see...

I have to disagree.  Ys: Oath of Felghana was not that bad.  It just didn't have enough arrangement or instruments to differentiate itself from the OST.  So the Super Arrange Version sounded a lot like the OST.

I didn't care for Ys VI: Songs of Zemeth, since a majority of tracks were vocals, but some people may be looking for that.

How is the Genso Sangokushi music anyway?  I have yet to hear any of it.  I always assumed it wasn't done by Falcom Sound Team jdk because the game was originally developed by UserJoy Technology, probably one of their Korean affiliates.  Do we know if the music was actually done by jdk?

And by the way, I agree that the Kiseki arranges were great.  I think we've had our fill of Ys III arrangements though.

The only thing that bugged me about the Kiseki arranges were...It was the vocal album with instruments stripped out, 1-2 tracks added(plus the first LOH VI Super Arrange disc)! The vocal album was pretty good, so no complaints there, but I was a little disappointed they didn't really alter stuff around.

If Ys Origin's Super Arrange can make good on the promise of the "Searing Struggle" arrangement on the Felghana Super Arrange, we'll be in good shape. It's already going to be better, since they got the most important part (the track selection) down right (which is where the Felghana SA royally fucked up). Now it's up to the arranger(s).

I'm always up for more Ys III arrangements though. The more I hear them, the more respect I have for those old Falcom melodies. With all due respect to Ys Origin (which I love) and a lot of other stuff that gets released nowadays, I don't think there are many new tracks that hold a candle to stuff like Valestine Castle, Illbern Ruins or Strongest Foe.

I have to agree with this.  After Ys IV, the melodies of many Falcom games don't have the same feel to them anymore.
