A picture with a release date from Gamestop here:  http://www.gamestop.com/gs/weeklyad/cur … 1507-2.asp  Interestingly it notes its compatibility with Wii Play, Resident Evil 4 - Wii Edition (nice to see it at $29.99), and Duck Hunt; the latter being a nice way to announce an upcoming Virtual Console game for Nintendo.  Perhaps more light gun games will be coming?

http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802669  Actual product page also mentions Chicken Shoot and Brothers in Arms:  Double Time.  Neat retro design if anything...

Seemed inevitable... I'm actually surprised Nintendo hasn't released an official Wii-Gun yet. Definitely will make shooters much more fun smile

Nintendo showed this off at E3 last year (I think?), or something similar... this is Nintendo's 1st party official Wii-gun... or the closest we'll get.  I'm curious if it impresses Namco, the only 3rd party light-gun developer.  They just announced a Time Crisis 4 for PS3.

I wonder how accurate it will be compared to the GunCon?

I don't know... I'm hoping for some 'review' or impressions somewhere online before I throw $20 on it.  I am happy that Duck Hunt is coming out soon though, and already have Wii Play, but I'm not sure how exactly it will be more helpful with RE4-WE (I am curious why it isn't coming out the same week as RE4).

Where is the trigger?  I don't see how you fire this thing.

Ryu Jun 15, 2007

I think you snap it down and it has a mechanism attached to the trigger that pulls the B button for you?  I see the handle is just the nunchuk snapped into place.

Apparently the GunCon 3 is basically a Wiimote without the acclerometer (sp?).  Kohler didn't seem particulary impressed.
