For those who haven't seen it yet, go to gametrailers.com, ds.ign.com, or Nintendo's homepage and download the Zelda: Phantom Hourglass trailer.  Classic Zelda gameplay... nice graphics... and clever little touch screen elements (you can finally make notes on the map!).  Yes please.

I agree and look forward to this.  And a pleasant surprise over another "Four Swords."

Although, I could've sworn they were working on a Four Swords-ish game; now that the Wi-Fi is going strong, I'm guessing it's something that is inevitable.  I'm guessing Phantom Hourglass is in-house and perhaps Four Swords is being done by Flagship, like its original?

I'm confused on that as well, Ryu, since I think Nintendo originally stated that the Zelda game for the DS would be a Four Swords game.  Later, though, I think they reversed that statement and said that Zelda DS would NOT be a Four Swords game.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see if a 4S game actually does come out at all for the system.  And yes, I read somewhere that Phantom Hourglass is in-house.

Looked great - until I saw the boat bit. Then all my bad memories of WW came back to me. Hopefully there will be no more than 10 minutes in that boat and it won't be used as an attempt to lengthen a game which just doesn't have enough game in it.

My memory agrees with Qui Gon here.  I think they did originally say it would be Four Swords and then later say that it wouldn't be.  As for in-house vs. not in house, so far it's all been win-win for the Zelda series.  Every stand-alone Flagship/Capcom developed Zelda game has been fantasic in my book.  The Four Swords that it developed wasn't very good (thanks mostly to the random dungeons), but it was just a freebie to make the Zelda 3 port more interesting and served as an inspiration for Nintendo's own superb GameCube version.
