On August 4, 2009 at 8 PM, the game music concert Sinfonia Drammatica will take place at Konserthuset Stockholm. The concert will combine performances of Chris Huelsbeck's Symphonic Shades with selections from drammatica -The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura-. Famed conductor Arnie Roth will conduct the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra at the event. Chris Huelsbeck and Yoko Shimomura will also attend and are available for a meet and greet.
Tickets for Sinfonia Drammatica will be released here on March 25 at 11.00. Ordinary tickets cost 390 kronor. An additional ticket for the limited availability meet and greet with the composers is available for 150 kr. You can learn more about the concert by reading Arnie Roth's interview with SEMO here.
Not sure if anyone here is in the vicinity to make this concert, but it sounds like quite a treat for game music fans. It sounded a bit strange to me at first, but I agree with Roth there's a lot in common with the original music / arrangement. I also like the idea of blending East and West into one concert. Fantastic people will get the opportunity to hear the excellent Symphonic Shades live again and I think drammatica live will also be a special experience.
So what do you think about this concert? Are you able to attend?
