Me: Absolutely nothing!!

Seriously, there is nothing coming out this month that I want to buy.  I am upgrading my satellite HD PVR box tho to a newer model, but I just rent it (and the upgrade isn't costing me anything), I don't own it.

Cedille Jun 1, 2010

Me, either! I must get a job as quickly as possible, but at the same time, have to prepare for the remaining exams and interviews, so I even lack even much more money and time. sad

VGM-wise, I'm curious about new Persona album/DVDs, though.

Herrkotowski Jun 1, 2010 (edited Jun 1, 2010)

Small month for me. May was a killer.

Music:

Dariusburst Remix Wonder World

I am definitely looking forward to this album. The original had some great music, but I'm really curious about the arrange album as it's a 2 disc set featuring the same music arranged via two different viewpoints (humans and machines). With arrangers like Manabu Namiki, Hiroki Kikuta, Yoko Shimomura, Yasunori Mitsuda, ZUNTATA, Hisayoshi Ogura, TECHNOuchi, Norihiko Hibino, Yack, among others, it's an allstar line up and the arrange preview video definitely piqued my interest even more. Preview video here

Prologue Maxi "Ido e Itaru Mori e Itaru Ido"

My love for the Japanese group Sound Horizon knows no bounds and this release, despite being a single, looks to continue the streak of success, in my eyes. Throw in guest keyboardist Motoi Sakuraba and guest guitarist Marty Friedman and you are sure to have some sick keyboard/guitar solos respectively. It's a single that serves as the prologue to the next full album, due out later this year. I'm absolutely excited. Three songs, but only one has been previewed so far.

That's about it for me! I'm interested in the Xenoblade Original Soundtrack but I'm not entirely sold yet. So far so good, but I'll probably sample it before I commit.

ooh.. one thing maybe (but it's scheduled for June 30)

http://vgmdb.net/album/19469

another FFXIII vinyl release.

Does anyone know what the heck "W/F" stands for in these things? "With/From"?

Gamewise, I will buy Sin & Punishment 2 on release and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker eventually, though I see little point in paying $40 for it considering how fast PSP games lose their value.  There's new Family Guy and American Dad DVD sets coming out this month that I will also buy eventually, but I'm in no rush.  Finally, I hope to pick up the following CDs:

-Remastered Tracks Rockman Zero: Mythos
-Xenoblade Original Soundtrack

Ashley Winchester Jun 1, 2010

I'd like to pick up the Rockman Zero box, given I have the moola and a site other than e-capcom stocks it.

Still, I don't think I could be more dissapointed what Ippo and crew have done for ZX and I've been giving it an honest listen.

Bernhardt Jun 2, 2010 (edited Jun 2, 2010)

Xenoblade OST ought to be it, if I can help it.

Though, those live Persona albums seem tempting; supposed to have some stuff from P3, P3 FES, and P4 on them...

If I'll be buying anything soon, it'll probably be stuff that's been out for awhile, stuff coming out next month, or dare I say, something not to do with VGM or video-games at all...

Angela Jun 2, 2010

Not much at all this month.  Probably gonna hold off on the likes of Sin & Punishment: Star Successor and Mega Man Zero Collection..... heck, even Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.  But Deathsmiles (Limited Edition) is a day one; Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype served as a lovely bullet-hell shmup appetizer, but now it's time for the main course.

Wanderer Jun 2, 2010

For music, just the Giacchino Star Trek expanded release. Nothing at all for games.

Ah, so they're finally releasing this!  Will it be under the Varese Sarabande label?  What's the release date?

Grab it while you can. Just 5,000 copies made!

I'm going to put my foot in my mouth for one track here: ZX Tunes. Ryo Kawakami. Rockin' On. Awesome.

SonicPanda Jun 4, 2010 (edited Jun 4, 2010)

My plate is actually pretty full for June.

Game-wise:
100 Classic Books
DeathSmiles
Disgaea Infinite
Dragon Ball Origins 2
Megaman Zero Collection
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor
Snoopy Flying Ace

and maybe Trinity Universe, which interests me as an realtime Action-RPG, but I'm not especially familiar with the characters crossing over.

Also, DVD-wise there's Life, which I enjoyed much much more than I ever did Planet Earth. Then there the monthly dose of Ibuki comics and so on.

July & especially August should be a good cooldown period, though.

EDIT:

ZX Tunes is actually my favorite of the remastered albums, a smidge higher than Idea, and ZXA Tunes isn't that far behind (though I've always considered the standard boss theme to be a mess). Zero 1 & 4 are the weakest for me.

Pellasos Jun 12, 2010

PS3:

Nier Gestalt
Final Fantasy XIII Chinese version (Japanese VA, English text)

PSP:

Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker

OST:

Nier
Peace Walker if it's good enough.

Let it be known that I made it two whole days before breaking down and eating my words on this one.

I'm still not getting it any time soon.  I just can't get excited for it after how horrible a time I had trying to figure out how the heck to make Snake do what I wanted him to with the controls in Portable Ops...

The controls are much better than in Portable Ops.  Still not great, but much better than PO.  See for yourself in the demo on PSN.  There's also an aim assist function in the final game (not sure if it's in the demo) that makes headshots a lot easier too.

Well, cripes.

It seems the Atelier Series Volkslied 3 album is actually going to be pretty damn good; samples show a solid tracklist, good vocals and instrumentation, and overall good re-arrangement.

Although, some of the pieces, I don't recognize because I haven't heard their original soundtracks; probably going to turn me onto some other Atelier soundtracks I otherwise wouldn't have checked out...
