Ok, so a few days back I found some old Dragon Saber arrangements of Yonemitsu on a very old hard drive of mine...I checked his vgmdb entry just for fun and noticed all these Namco credits I never knew off! I suppose I am in the minority of Yonemitsu diehards (Crash, Goldfish) here that hasn't heard these...anyone here actually owns these albums?

PS: I checked out some of the tracks on Youtube. This one is pretty crazy (the second half of the song that is):

Odd I found some of those albums for download around the net and wasn't terribly impressed as with his arranges found on Megami Tensei I & II and Ys. I found Yonemitsu wasn't jammin and kicking major ass with his guitar as he later did in the 90s and even recently on Wild Arms rocking heart.

"Ice Cave" from the Namco Game Sound Express Vol. 4, however, is awesome.

WHAAAAAA!?  I need to check this out.

Yeah Yonemistsu is a fantastic pop arranger, with a specialty for turning BGMs into vocal tracks, and was closely connected with Namco and did a lot of arranging work for them before getting involved with Nihon Falcom.

If you need help finding samples of specific tracks let me know.

Megami Tensei

Funny, I never really got hip to his Megami Tensei I.II arrangement, not to say it wasn't good stuff (I do love the track 'Hallucination').

"Ice Cave" one the other hand though, I have to agree with...vintage Yonemitsu. ^_^

Here's a Sample Pack of just his Arrange Tracks from:
sendspace.com/file/mfeltm

Namco Video Game Graffiti Volume 01
Namco Video Game Graffiti Volume 02
Namco Video Game Graffiti Volume 03
Namco Video Game Graffiti Volume 04
Namco Video Game Graffiti Volume 07
Namco Video Game Graffiti Volume 10
Namco Video Game Graffiti Collection - Best 10
Namcot Game Ala Mode
Namcot Game Ala Mode II
Namco Best Hit Parade!
Namco Game Sound Express Volume 04 - Dragon Saber

While putting this together, I just noticed that MOST of them are already compiled into the two albums "Best Hit Parade!" and "Graffiti Collection - Best 10".

Thanks for that, Carl. Definitely check out Megami Tensei I & II for those who haven't. Yonemitsu performed alongside "Project SATAN" and some of those tracks have plenty of wonderful live instrument accompaniment. Here's one of the best tracks "Explorer ~ Shuttered City" ...classic hard-rockin' Ryo...

I'd love to know what musicians he used for the album or even a booklet scan as I don't own this album -- it appears he uses regulars for his music who often go uncredited. Pretty sure the guy who plays the sax on two of these tracks is Mitsuru Kanekuni (Double Dragon II, V'Ball)...

I've finally given all of them a listen and it's pretty cool hearing his oldschool work and some of those vocal tracks are not so bad:). I echo XISM's sentiments though overall. But more people should really give that awesome Steel Gunner track a listen ^_^.

Anyway, I appreciate the effort of putting up the tracks Carl. Thanks!
