Play for Japan: The Album

The last track is an arrangement of Dimension Break / Dimension Breach / A Narrow Space Between Dimensions / The Bend of Time / etc.  Can it be?  Mitsuda isn't shitting us about the Chrono Cross arranged album?

My lapse in judgment abated as soon as I finished typing the question.  Never mind.  Mitsuda is shitting us, and this track is a one-off.

I believe the full SQ Chips album will be out in September - the same month as the ginormous Seiken Densetsu set.  Looking forward to both.

I think also another in the Love/More/Chill SQ series is coming too - Cafe SQ.  Don't know when tho.

Sumthing REALLY needs to release a physical version of that Play for Japan album...

07/08: L.A. Noire Official Soundtrack

This was a digital-only release up until a few days ago.  Thankfully, Rockstar decided to make an actual CD and I just ordered it!  Glad I held out and stuck to my "I don't pay for music files" rule.

What he said.  I don't normally buy digital releases but I will certainly make an exception for this one.  It's for a good cause and I'm a fan of most of the artists here, especially the man who coordinated the whole album. smile

Only $8 (minus shipping) was well!

One of the tracks on the Play for Japan album is an iTunes exclusive.  I'm astonished, really, that the parties responsible for the distribution of this album would be so slimy as to engage in exclusivity nonsense for a charity album.  And for some reason, the album has been pulled from the U.S. iTunes store altogether.

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed all around in how they're handling this.  I was all ready to just buy the album from Amazon, but to be missing the Kondo track?  And there's no way I'm setting up an itunes account just to buy one thing.  Bleh.

According to Grasshopper's official Twitter account, the album was removed from iTunes by Flemming, Lord of Demons, also known as the bad guy from Shadows of the Damned. smile

I totally agree about the iTunes exclusive track, what a lame thing to do.  I'm not intentionally installing a virus (iTunes) on my computer for one Mario track.  I plan on buying the album from Amazon and will grab the Mario track.. some other way.  I kinda wonder though.. if all the money raised goes to charity, what the hell is the point of an exclusive track on iTunes?  They're basically saying "If you buy from Amazon, the Japanese Red Cross loses one dollar."  If we find out Apple is making any kind of profit from the exclusivity agreement, I will truly be sick to my stomach.
