Am I the only one who thinks that the recently released Final Fantasy brass album is really good?

I've hated every single brass album since the early DQ ones, so probably.

If there's ever been a case for semi-solipsism, then you've just made it.

I would agree that most VGM brass / wind orchestra albums aren't very good, but having actually listened to the album (only once so far, just today), Bra★Bra Final Fantasy is much better than most and a perfectly respectable effort. Yes there are times I can't help but think of a high school brass band (the effect most of these albums have), and there are certainly places that would be substantially better with added strings, but even given the limitations I found some genuinely fun moments, and very few where I was inclined to skip.

It helps that these arrangements are almost entirely original and rarely cover themes that have existing orchestral arrangements, unlike the DQ brass albums where their deficiencies are made very clear by the symphonic suites.

Not my favorite, but a fun album.  Sound quality is decent.
