hmm, think a preorder is necessary? It sounds kind of similar to a limited edition and I do not want to miss out this time.

It's not a Limited Edition that's gonna be sold out the day of release, so there's no rush or worry about being able to find one... There'll be plenty available at all vgm web-retailers of choice.
