I am currently listening to "SQ Lovers", the bonus CD that came with my copy of Cafe SQ.
...What the heck is this thing?  Clearly these two 13 minute tracks are insanely over-mixed medleys (that kind of give me a headache), but where is it all from?  I recognize a LOT of content as being from SQ Chips (or warped or remixed versions of SQ Chips material), but what about the rest?  Other than Cafe SQ and SQ Chips, I don't own any of the other SQ albums.  I've heard a bit from Chill and Love SQ, but nothing from More SQ.
Does all the content from SQ Lovers originate from the other SQ series albums?  Is some of it original to here?

No wait... now I hear some stuff that sounds directly out of Chrono Trigger in the second track...with other stuff on top of it.

Someone had way WAY too much fun throwing stuff together on this thing...

I actually like the first medley (the second one is garbage). I'm not a big fan of 'SQ' series including the latest installment Cafe SQ, but it makes me think a medley format is perhaps the best way for us to revisit these great classics of Square's golden era.

I'm actually a bit disappointed that Cafe SQ was announced as their last 'SQ' album for the time being, while still leaving many of unarranged classics. They'll focus on an FF I~III PC, an El Shaddai arranged album, and Secret of Mana arranged album, most of them won't be my cup of tea.

I'm wishy washy on medleys.  I didn't care for either of the SQ Lovers ones in the slightest.  Major headaches.
I thought Cafe SQ was...alright.  It was no SQ Chips, that's for sure.
Square really said no more SQ albums for now?  Aaaaaw. sad  Though if they are truly doing a Kikuta Mana era arrange album, I'd probably rather have that anyway.  The other projects you mentioned don't interest me.
