I just finished making my way through my Q109 soundtrack order, and I was really impressed with both the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time OST and the Sonic World Adventure OST.  The former nearly makes up for the boring Ring of Fates OST while the latter is amazingly vibrant.  Both come highly recommended.

I agree with you on this one. I was really disappointed with Tanioka's choice to make Ring of Fates more dramatic and orchestral. It was nothing close to the original FFCC. Fortunately Echoes of Time brings back some exotic and celtic elements, and I really enjoyed it.

I'm definitely agreed on Sonic Unleashed. A worldly score that is much more impressive than Sonic Black Knight in my opinion. However, I have the opposite opinion to you and Kuja on Ring of Fates vs Echoes of Time.

Sonic World Adventure OST definitely is a step up from Sonic the Hedgehog for PS3 in my opinion.  Mainly thanks to the heavy contribution and quality by Fumiya Kumatani, Wavemaster's darkhorse.  Hideaki Kobayashi also tore it up on Sonic World Adventure like I've never heard him tear it up before.  I actually got pretty sick of his style after all the PSO soundtracks, but his boss and Eggman themes on this soundtrack simply rock.

While we're on the subject, I thought the Sonic Rush Adventure OST for DS was quite good, despite coming through the disappoint that Naganuma didn't come back for the second one.

Totally agreed on Echoes of Time.  It is truly in the vein of the original's OST and one of the best things I've heard out of Square in quite some time.  Now to get around to actually playing the game...
